I just got a return aurhorization # from Rossi/Tarus. I have to send one back. They said you pay shipping to us at Miami Lakes, FL. We pay shipping back to you. Turn around 3-5weeks. Lifetime repair warranty on parts and labor.
Just for onfo, catpop
That is what I heard about Taurus lifetime warranty, you pay shipping sending in as stated on their shipping instructions. "All firearms must be shipped prepaid to our factory in Miami, Florida"

http://www.taurususa.com/repair-policy-shipping.cfm

Handgun shipping is expensive and that is one of the reasons I choose RIA. They pay shipping both ways and Life Time Warranty is transferrable.

Are you looking for an "expendable" weapon? A back up?

OK I get it. For what a gun such as this usually useful for? If you do a side by side comparison of either Smith or Colt (maybe a few more), it won't seem good enough anymore.
Oh, c'mon. It shoots well, it's well-made, and it doesn't cost a month's mortgage payment. What does a Colt or S&W offer more than that, other than name value?

I just got a M206 snubbie last month and put rounds through it. It's a 6 round gun and it's big and heavy and tames recoil nicely. The sights are also substantial. Put these things together, along with a decent trigger and you have a very accurate snub revolver, I like mine.

Another nice thing, they sent a set of finger grips along with it, they are an exact match of the PACHMAYR - "GRIPPER" Mfr Part: 02513 which I read would fit the M206 and does, except has an 1/8" gap on the backstrap, so it doesn't really fit the gun. I returned those grips and installed the factory finger groove grips and am very happy with those. In addition, the factory finger groove grips are hard plastic and should not hang-up as a sticky grip likely will if drawing the weapon from concealment. I got my revolver from Bud's Guns, 245 shipped.

One other comment, I didn't perform any "tactical" reloads of the gun but did notice that if the finger groove grips are installed, they do interfere with shell ejection if the cylinder is swung all the way open, so you need to train yourself to not do that if you are wanting to cleanly eject your shells. Strangely my smith and wesson model 36, also wearing finger groove grips does not have this issue...

I would recommend this revolver for anyone who is looking for a good shooter at a decent price, revolver prices are making me crazy lately.

We've sold these for awhile at the shop. They seem to run really well, and unlike the Taurus revolvers we no longer sell, none of the Rock Island or Charter Arms revolvers has come back non-functional :D

FWIW.

Do you have a source for that shipping both ways & transferrable comment?

Their website and return form don't mention the warranty being transferrable and their website specifically say to ship it to them and the shipping cost is not refundable

I had a Rock Island 1911 thar needed to go back twice. Both times they emailed me a paid FedEx label.

Granted, this was 3 years or so ago and I was the original purchaser.

I have owned about ten Taurus handguns in my life. Only one gave me trouble. It was older, and I was not the original owner. It had to go back to Taurus twice before it was fixed properly. I paid to ship it to them, and they paid to ship it back.

I have owned one RIA. I bought it new. It was defective. It had to go back three times before it was fixed properly. They sent me a free shipping label each time.

1. Superior trigger action (not really close, to be fair not commercially achievable at this price point).
2. Inherent accuracy (if you spend the $ on ammo to practice extensively with short barrel S&W or Colt) moot point if you don't practice enough to find the potential.
3. Durability. I'll entertain arguments about out of production Colts with a dearth of qualified gunsmiths, but from box to worn out the S&W and Colts have it in a walk.
4. The huge importance factor of these attributes for a dedicated personal defense weapon that will require extensive and regular practice to provide the proficiency to make them truly effective.

Do you disagree? Your right to do so, but this is my viewpoint.:D

P.S. My previous post was to expose that this IS NOT a Colt (or S&W) action in the internals.

I held one at the LGS and they felt very cheaply made, yes I understand the price point but my and many others have taurus 85s and they function flawlessly. And we are just talking about 20-40 bucks more at least in my area, Hell you can enter j frame territory by adding in another 75 to 100 bucks. The one I felt had too much cylinder play for my comfort, if I was looking for a cheap snub .38 I'd pass on this one.

To follow up on this....

It appears HankC is correct and Armscor's site may not be updated to their practice. (or maybe it gives them some wiggle room?)

I sent an email to them asking to clarify.

I received the following response this morning

Our warranty is lifetime to the gun not the owner. Yes we pay shipping both ways.

Go to the gun you want on our website, click the red button "BUY US NOW." It will take you to www.galleryofguns.com, enter in your zip code, and press instant quote (if it is in stock, some items out of stock). It will give you the listing of dealers it can ship to and the prices, then if you want it, you can check out and pick it up in a couple days. You also can use the dealer locator search bar on our website and contact a dealer to purchase the gun for you from one of our distributors. Also please check with other online retailers and check with your local gun shops as they may be able to special order it for you.

I'm going to buy one at my first opportunity. the quality is there , and the price is out standing ........HOORAH

I looked at a M200 at a gunstore. The trigget was better than I was expecting. The finish is one only a mother could love. The price point is great. The gunshop manager said something that puzzled me though. He said that the barrels are cast and have a steel liner. Is this true? I have not seen that mentioned in any articles or on the Armscor website? Can someone confirm or deny, definitively?

How Many rounds?

SASS23149,

Does that hold 5 or 6 rounds?

That sure is an attractive price for a brand new gun.

Please let us know if you get it and how it shoots.

THANKS!

Dave
