I have a nephew who is looking to buy an AR-15. He is looking at one from Stag Arms for $940.

What do you guys think?

The SO loves the left handed, wood stocked, AR I assembled for her using complete upper and a stripped lower from them (had a DPMS parts kit already so did not need one of theirs). Runs flawlessly.

Can't comment on the prices as I have not seen them this week. I expect that it might be worth it considering the panic that will follow when legislation starts hitting the floor.

Love my Stag guns.

Model 9T
Model 3TH-M
Model 6 Super Varminter

All are great guns, accurate, and run without a hiccup.:D:D

Be sure to check it doesn't have a third pin hole, or is marked for a LEO by mistake...I sure hope the guys running things now have a better handle on the process.

I have a LEO only AR, means nothing any more, just words with zero legal meaning. I also have a number of Military/LEO only magazines. Those words mean nothing in the free state of Texas.

I doubt that someone is selling one with 'the third hole', and if they are I hope the OP is educated enough to realize what it is.

One question I forgot to ask, are you looking for a left handed Stag? I had just assumed that due to that is what separated them from the pack.

Stag is a quality product and i doubt that will change with the new ownership, however for the price indicated I would purchase a Colt 6920 on sale at various outlets ( SOG is currently running a sale) for $900 and change. There are a bunch of brands of rifles that are equal or better than Stag in the $800-1000 range if you care to shop.

They were busted misplacing LEO and others' machineguns, I'm (mostly) being facetious.

I am not a fan of the AR. But I own one that was a gift. It's a lefty Stag. My opinion is that it always goes bang, and the bullets hit the target if I do my part.

One other observation is that is a much better firearm than the damned M16 that tried to get me killed.

I've got a 2L that my old man bought for me several years ago. I'm not much of a rifleman, but it's a fine gun. Shoots well, well built, and it means a lot to me since it was a sincere and spur of the moment gift my dad saw the LGS and knew it would fit his southpaw son well.

Even though i don't shoot it much, it would probably be the last gun I sold.

I own 2 Noveskes, a 10.5"CQB and a 14.5" Afghan which are my go to carbines.
My Stag 3G 18" is every bit as reliable as my Noveske's.
I replaced the Sampson handguard with a 16.7" Noveske.
