I'm stocked up for now but bullseye is one of my staple powders. i was in sportsman's warehouse yesterday looking for 2400 ( no luck) when i saw they had 8 1 lb jugs left of bullseye. This was a Saturday so it's been there for 1 day.

i had bought primers and some powder from powder vallley(aa 2 and w231 to try) just 2 weeks ago otherwise i would have bought some more. As it was, i decided to leave it and not get the 2 jugs they'll usually allow.

the bullseye i have was bought from another store locally last fall was probably 5 bucks more per jug.

its nice to see powder back for now but i wonder if ill feel bad about this chance a few months from now.....no hazmat and cheaper.

My experience is that AA2 meters better and burns cleaner than Bullseye. My guess is you'll prefer it, so you did the right thing. Just MO, of course.

Lately Bullseye had been a challenge to locate but not impossible. However, few pistol powders are as difficult to find as AA#2 and not just now but since the powder shortage began four years ago. This powder has only just started showing up in the retail canister market.

So yes AA#2 is a good powder but Western has bigger fish to fry than the consumer of canister powders. Regardless, there are no guarantees in the powder supply line, the best thing to do is if there is a particular powder you really like, stock up now while the sun is shinning.

I think you did ok passing on the Bullseye.

Why don't you re-inventory your powder at set an amount of your favorite powders that could get you through a shortage?

Don't panic! Set a level of powder and primers that is good for you and maintain the level.

I load rifle, pistol and shotgun. In the event of a crazy shortage again, I will maintain my powder levels and stop reloading shotgun. Same with primers.

i kinda felt guilty as i do bave a bit of a stockpile at this time. i have 14 lbs of of bullseye but bought in a more expensiive store over the last yr about 28 bucks per jug and 180 bucks for 8 lbs. i should be set for a pistol powder shortage of several yrs as i do have other pistol powders.

2 years ago i dropped what i was doing to drive to sportsmans to buy 2 jugs of bullseyes after i called and found they had some from that weeks delivery i was there in 30 minutes.

i do shoot way more when my supplies are good.
