I keep kicking around what I should be carry in the car or on my person. I have some 1911s, Walthers and a few other that I can shoot targets better than others but this really is not about shooting targets.

Now, I carry as SCCY2 and Keltec 380 every day. Why I am not sure. I have a bunch of other guns that I can carry.

Then I started thinking about the "carry gun", what do you want in it. It must be reliable and you can hit center mass of your target. Not necessary the bullseye every time. The Glocks, 1911 and others fills that bill as does the SCCY. The difference I my mind is if it gets stolen, beat up or what ever it is only a $250 gun that works every time I have pulled the trigger (maybe 1000+ rounds).

Also, when traveling to Maryland, they limit the magazine capacity to 10 rounds.

It is about shooting targets, these just move and might shoot back. Carry whatever you shoot the most accurate with that you can conceal if you have to. God willing you will never have to use it, but if you do accurate rounds mean everything. I carry a Glock 17l mostly or a regular 17at times but I shoot them both well enough that if I ever have to use them I'll know I can hit what I need to.

My carry guns are extremely unlikely to be stolen, because I am carrying them, not leaving them unsecured in the car or something.

I REALLY don't care if my carry gun gets beat up, because if it does, that probably means I used it for self defense because, again, my carry guns get carried...being in my holster won't beat it up. And I sure as crap don't worry about the value or cost of damage to a gun if I need to use it for self defense, that would be a completely jacked up order of priorities.

I carry my best firearms. Best meaning the most reliable and shootable in my hands.

Personally I wouldn't even buy an sccy let alone carry one over something like a Glock.

Whatever you decide to carry, become familiar with and have confidence in it.
Practice with it, use the loads you plan to carry, rotate your mags, and keep fresh ammo.
Hope you never need it, but stay prepared.

BTW, this "CCG" acronym in the title...I have never in a decade of time on gun forums heard of it or seen it before. Probably, using it will only cause confusion.

The CC_ acronym people recognize is CCW
