Ohio Professor Offers Gun-Control Solution: "Storm NRA HQ & Make Sure There Are No Su

It isn't. Gallows humor is sometimes preferable, however, to blowing a coronary. I agree with you about the firing,

Depends on who has the coronary.
in fact I opened the FBI page on reporting terrorist threats online intending to report the Facebook post, and then after it asked for name, address, phone and political leanings, I decided I'd rather hope that one of you had already done so.
We don't call it the FBI any more. We call it the IDGAS -- for "I Don't Give A S***."

If our esteemed representatives in Congress aren't above breaking the rules of those hallowed halls in the name of gun control, why should anyone else be expected to be any better?

People who got there by being front men for civil rights seem to have no problem stripping constitutionally guaranteed rights from others.

We have a local rag, Arkansas Times, that seems to be a home for spite-filled left-wing bigots. If they don't like you, they will call you:

A. Homosexual
B. Homophobic
C. Both A and B.
I'm really shocked that there is a newspaper in Arkansas.

Sorry, that was an Okie joke that got out of hand.

Arkansas Times is not a newspaper. It was a magazine at one time, but went severely down hill and is now one of those rags you pick up for free at the airport.

By the way, Arkansas had a newspaper before Oklahoma existed -- even before the Indian Territory existed. It was the Arkansas Gazette's report on the first group of Choctaws to be "removed" in 1831 that included a quote from a Choctaw chief, "It was a trail of tears and death."

Take a look at his Facebook page. Do you think it's a coincidence that every one of the five jobs listed in his Intro says "former"?

Anybody read through the comments to his posting?

Parts in bold I found funny:

Nickolai Jackimoff As an attorney, I tell you please be careful with words like this, that can be misconstrued as a threat.

Bill Bishop There is no "misconstrue" here it IS a threat.

Bill Bishop James Pearce explain how it is not?

James Pearce It was a something called a "joke." Ever heard of them? They're supposed to be funny, but they presuppose the existence of a sense of humor, something that seems to have died in today's polarized environment.

Bill Bishop James Pearce ooooohhhh it's a joke to threaten to commit a mass shooting. Ok

James Pearce If it were serious, would I advertise it?

Well, maybe so, if I had an I.Q. like yours.

Bill Bishop James Pearce how typically liberal. Quickly devolve to insults when you are so clearly in the wrong.

James Pearce OK, you don't think it was funny. But how, exactly, can a joke be "right" or "wrong"?

If you attack somebody for telling a joke, don't you think this person has a right to self defense?

If not, then why do you have that gun?

James Pearce If you're going to go ape-stupid on me, yeah, you might get insulted. But at least you won't get shot.

Cory Pless I don't think it was a joke James

James Pearce That could be because you don't think.

Cory Pless Actually I do. But you don't seems like

Bill Bishop It is disappointing that a supposed adjunct professor can't do better than to simply toss insults and pretend he was "joking"

CARL N. BROWN - "... there are anti-gunners who have advocated suspending the 4th Amendment if the subject is guns and doing dragnet searchs for guns in homes. "

Yes, and the numbskull actor, little Matt Damon, is one of them. He has called for the mass confiscation of all guns in the United States.

I am sure he excludes the firearms his personal body guards carry ... and of course, all the guns used in his movies so he can make millions of $$$$$.

Hypocrites know no shame.

Leanwolf:
Did actor Matt Damon really call for the "mass confiscation of all firearms in the US"? There seems to be a pattern of anti-Sec. Amend. actors who make a very nice living portraying either hit men or other murderers. Ethics in Hollywood?

That doesn't appear to be a joke by Mr. Damon, in order to get attention.
My tentative plans to see his latest movie have been cancelled. That money will be spent on ammo for the Makarov(s) or 'new' Mak 90. Academy Sports is only a half mile from nearby theaters in Bartlett.

As for the nitwit college "professor" in OH, let's hope that the Sheriff's Dept. Can put him through a very long interrogation. Maybe some of you present or former LEOs have contacts in that county?

After tonight's massacre in Dallas, even much more appropriate if somebody has incited a terroristic attack?

Is the NRA headquarters a gun free zone or not?

Don't assume they are armed to the teeth.

James Pearce is just an 'Adjunct Assistant Professor' at a small technical college that not a lot of folks in Ohio have ever heard of (even though it does have four locations).
Adjunct Assistant (usually) means that James Pearce is not tenured, not on the road to tenure, and most likely is part-time.
His comments are idiotic.

I looked up 'Adjunct Assistant Professor', too. Interesting:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_ranks_in_the_United_States

For regular faculty (i.e., not counting administrative positions such as chairmanships or deanships, nor positions considered "staff" rather than faculty), the descending hierarchy in most cases is:
- Distinguished, Endowed or University Professor (Other such titles of special distinction vary by institution)
- Professor ("Full Professor", i.e. the destination of the "tenure track," upon exhausting all normally-expected promotions)
- Associate Professor (On-Track to be a "Full Professor")
- Assistant Professor (On-Track to be an "Associate Professor," typically entry-level for "tenure track" positions)
- Research Associate, Lecturer, and Instructor (usually non-tenure-track positions, sometimes with their own respective ranking hierarchies)
- Adjunct Professor/Lecturer/Instructor (often part-time)

Further:

Any faculty title preceded with the qualifier "Adjunct" theoretically denotes part-time status (usually less than half-time). Adjunct faculty may have primary employment elsewhere (either another school, or as a practicing professional), though in today's saturated academic market many doctorate-holders seek to earn a living from several adjunct jobs (to the advantage of institutions, which do not typically offer such faculty retirement/health benefits or long-term contracts).

So...he's at the very bottom of the totem pole at a small technical college. And at his apparent age, looking at his photo, I doubt he's ever going to amount to anything more.

Where was this guy when I was in college years ago? I'd have had a heyday with him.

Oh, yeah...he was probably still walking around with loaded diapers. Not much has changed, apparently.

Maybe time to look into the Tor Browser designed to help political activists in repressive regimes "get the truth out".

Original project started with .gov seed money at ONL and DARPA. Like guns can be used for good or evil :(

I work at a State University,,,
Being a conservative I take a lot of verbal flak.

This flak is overt, rude, and comes from both liberal faculty members and students.

When I put this picture up on the wall of my office,,,
Several of them went to complain to the Dean.

It sorta proved the point of the statement.

They are all about open dialogue,,,
Until it disagrees with their viewpoint.

This might seem like an over generalization,,,
But it comes from 16 years in this place.

It never ceases.

Security in the building, and maybe 18-30 people shooting in the range at any time. Plus armed range officers. It would go hard on the professor and his pals!

You can never underestimate the intense ideological commitment and utter ruthlessness of the gun control & confiscation clique. Actually, the leftists in general are nasty, mean-spirited and quite vicious.

Private gun ownership is truly looked upon by them as a scourge that ought to have no place in a "refined" and "civilized" society.

Even this underestimtes the frightening reality. These modern-day Progressives will just as happlliy place their opposition in concentration/death camps, as their Euruopean and Asian predecessors did all during the last century.
In fact, I can almost guarantee this eventuallity.
Seriously........................wait and see.

SSCC isn't a "real" college. The highest degree is an Associates ("earn your degree in 18 months"). Most programs are lower level training - truck driving, even a GED prep course. Now there is nothing wrong with an Assocites, driving a truck, or earning a GED. But I think it's a stretch to call this institution a college. The scariest thing I saw was that the have a criminal justice program...
