It proves the old adage -- only violent criminals oppose other people having guns.
No, they don't.

Whether you want to believe it or not, many of the antis do in fact believe that they are doing the right thing. Most of them are NOT "violent criminals".

Cooperation and understanding is the only way to make this situation better for us. Not demonization of the other side.

SSCC isn't a "real" college. The highest degree is an Associates ("earn your degree in 18 months"). Most programs are lower level training - truck driving, even a GED prep course. Now there is nothing wrong with an Assocites, driving a truck, or earning a GED. But I think it's a stretch to call this institution a college. The scariest thing I saw was that the have a criminal justice program...

CC stands for community college. So it's a real community college. They aren't claiming to be a bachelor's granting college. They fill a niche.

Yes. Most believe media lies that AR 15s are extra dangerous when in fact they are less so than most centerfire rifles. Education helps a bunch.

This is absolutely the very epitome of a terrorist threat. This leftist tool needs to be charged and tried under the Fed's Terrorist law. A guilty versict with proper sentence might make others of a similar ilk think twice before spewing their venom openly.

Not to get too picky,,,

Not to get too picky,,,
But College is the proper term for a 2-year school,,,
The term University is the proper term to denote a 4-year school.

I doubt there is a source that states this as definite,,,
But in all of the professional literature I read,,,
This is the commonly accepted usage.

Just sayin',,,

First of all, they do. They push policies that help the criminals and hurt the honest people.

Secondly, they are foresworn -- all politicians in this country, all military (and former military) and many other people have sworn to uphold the Constitution. When such people advocate ignoring the Constitution, they are violating their oaths.

Do you honestly believe the Bloombergs, Pelosis, Feinsteins, Clintons, Bradys etc. et. Will ever cooperate or try to understand?

sometimes telling the truth seems like demonizing.

John Donne (who wrote "For whom the bell tolls") said, "For a man to find a good wyfe is like to grope an eel out of a bag full of serpents. If he succeed, what hath he but a wet eel by the tayle?"

Similarly, if you converted Bloomberg, Pelosi, Feinstein, etc., what would you have but a bunch of wet eels by the tail?

Hello Armybrat,,,

aarondhgraham, do those whiners complain about Pistol Pete?

Actually a few have publically said they want the mascot changed.

I know for a fact that two professors in my building,,,
Requested that he not be in attendance for an award they received.

Pete carries a Ruger Blackhawk in .357,,,
They said the presence of a gun offended them.

I have utter disdain for them.

Any news on this guy. I checked the schools website and he is not listed. They don't seem to have put out a press release regarding this.

An email campaign might be in order.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. If a student makes a bomb threat,(or any kind of threat), does that student "get a pass" with that same "oh it was just a joke" excuse?

The school needs to drop him like a they would a rattlesnake. Law enforcement should make an arrest and file charges,,,NOW!

I don't care who he is, tenure makes no difference...go get him NOW.

Mark

He doesn't have tenure and isn't eligible to earn it, and many schools don't list adjunct as faculty on their website.

Having been an adjunct myself and currently being a tenured faculty member at a school that hires lots of adjuncts, I can tell you that getting rid of a troublesome adjunct is the easiest thing in the world. You don't even have to fire them. You just have to say "Sorry, we don't have any classes for you this semester." That's one reason the colleges love to hire them. They're the day-laborers of the academic world. Contrary to popular opinion, tenured positions are pretty hard to come by in this economy.

It's a little harder if the person has done something so effed-up that they need to be terminated mid-semester, like a very public drug arrest or sexual harassment of a student, etc. Then they have to be formally fired.

I would suspect that this guy will get the "Sorry, no work for you right now" routine come fall.
