Today I stopped by my local gun shop and I saw something I just couldn't resist taking a closer look at. The clerk handed it to me and said they had just put it on the rack no more than an hour ago, sure enough it was a Poly-Tech Legend AK-47/s with Milled receiver. The price tag said $1,699 and I had to ask if they could do better. He told me to hold on a moment and when he came back he said he could do $1,600. I already had my card and drivers license in hand. I couldn't take it home today as I was a bit short on funds this week but they offered a 90 layaway so I took advantage of it

The gun doesn't have the original box but does come with 3 original mags the manual and the original bayonet and sling.

I snapped a quick cell phone picture of it before I left, I'll update this thread with good pictures of it when I finally bring it home.

Is that one from the Mid-eighties? Back when you could buy one of those in California I saw one in a gun shop. The one I saw had a folding spike bayonet. I think yours was the other model they made, without the bayonet. I was impressed with the quality.

You scored big!

Nice find, haven't seen one of those in quite some time. A bit pricey but the Legend is definitely one of the good ones to have.

I'm assuming that's $1600, plus tax? Still, not too bad, given the factory-original other stuff. The Legend is another one of those toys that I'd be embarrased to admit what I let it go for ! ;)

I bought my Legend when I turned 21 (the age requirement in MD in 1991). It turns heads when ever I take it to the range. It is a beautiful rifle!!
I still have more then half the 1200 round case I bought with the AK.

What I really love about this gun is that it isn't in mint condition, it has just the right amount of wear to justify it as a shooter and not just a collectible safe queen. The feel of it is just amazing, it's hard to believe something that feels this high quality could come from China, although I've had a couple Norinco AK's in the past that felt really high quality as well.

Very nice. I saw a sporter at my local fun shop <$400 about 8 yrs ago, did not buy it, when I went back next day, it was gone! :( I'm still waiting on they lift the import ban. Or, Vietnam start buying US made weapons and dump all the AKs and SKSs in surplus market.:D
