Nice camera work, editing. Top end hunting gear too.
A lot of technology all around.
And yet the shot is flubbed.

Pretty embarrassing.

I wouldn't have posted it, no matter how much work went into that production.

Chest and you'd probably have your deer.

High probability. Still a learning curve with these VLD's for me

Best to provide some explanatory text when posting a video. These no-comment posts are often deleted as drive-by posts, a no-no.

Very slack of me and for that I apologize. My aim was for the video to tell the story and not a few words but I get your point.

It's only embarrassing for anyone that can't handle failure. An inability to handle failure often leads to a failure to succeed in life. If I had found the deer in the scrub would that still be considered a failure? The deer was dead on its feet.
Honesty is something lacking in majority of hunting videos IMO. Not in mine.. If I get caned for being honest well I can wear that.
Thanks for the feedback

Being honest about the failure doesn't mean the attempt was most honorable.

Long D with a smaller target..........cutting things maybe a little too fine?

So this is an ethics debate is it? Would it be honorable if I hit the same point at 100yds with the same result because the bullet failed to expand?
As I see it really came down to two errors. Firstly my point of aim chosen was wrong for the bullet selection and two was the wrong projectile chosen for my point of aim. Often the way we find these things out isn't ideal but it is the nature of all forms of hunting and life.
I won't be the last hunter that hasn't been able to find their target once it's down but it's never from lack of trying.

There are no experienced hunters who have not flubbed a shot. I know that I sure have. Sometimes several in season. I've had a bad hair day where I've missed multiple shots in a day. It happens. I appreciate the honestly that Stevyrob protrays in his videos. I'd love to see a fail segment from Best of the West or one of those other long range shooting shows. But you won't because they are trying to sell you their system. And I can guarantee you that they have plenty of whoopsy doos. Not to mention the average Joes who buy their long range shooting systems.

That video is also the reason that I don't like neck shots. The whole dead or miss concept is not true. I've seen more wounded not recovered critters from slightly off head and neck shots than anything other shot placement.
