My first 9mm. was an Astra Model 600 and that gun was definitely not fun to shoot! I was pretty much done after 50 rounds per range session. It usually took my hand a few days to recover from the pummeling it took from shooting it. I would have gladly traded it for a Ruger P89 if they had been around back when I had the Astra.

To me my favorite 9mm handguns are the old steel frame 3rd gen S&Ws. Ya sure, they are heavy, but gosh darn they just work. Its easy to overlook them in the world of plastic 9s, but ya, sometimes the old steel just feels best.

There's a guy on GB selling ugly CZ 75's for around $250.

My vote would be 3rd gen Smith.
