Very sad indeed, THR has lost a huge wealth of knowledge and wit. RIP RC. You will be sorely missed.

RC will be remembered for being such a class act. May light perpetual shine on him.

I know a little about smoking addiction as I smoked for 42 years. I tried to quit for decades and tried all kinds of things, but nothing worked. On Aug. 5, 2010 I had the faith of a mustard seed, and I knew in my heart that Jesus could, so I bowed my head in prayer, and asked Jesus to take my smoking addiction, and immediately He did. I had no withdrawal either. Thank you Jesus for 6 wonderful years of not smoking. I had to share this with my HR friends who may be trying to go cold turkey the hard way.

I met a lady several months ago who had a very similar experience with her smoking addiction.

rcmodel was always the gentleman, always helping everyone here. thank you for all your help and knowledge. i will miss your whit.

see you on the other side,

Over the years I've read his posts and saw that he was decent man. His devotion to his wife speaks volumes about his character.

Incredible story. RC will definitely be missed here, and far more at home I am sure.

Farewell Richard, though I never met him personally, we exchanged several PM's, and I would consider him a friend. He will be missed.

RIP RC My condolences to the family and friends. I lost my Mom to breathing problems also. Always a gentleman and never critesized or belittled anyone for asking silly or dopey questions. I will miss him.

I haven't read every post here yet but I will go back and read them all. I was afraid something like this had happened. I had noticed he wasn't posting. I even checked his profile to see when the last time was he posted. That was the clue that something was wrong.

And like others I will miss his post and information. I had asked him a couple of times if he was into RC models. He never said so I never found out. I fly RC planes myself and would have liked to share some sky with him if he had the same interest.

I am sure he knew how well he was liked and respected. I hope that gave him some comfort knowing that others held him in high esteem.

Adios Amigo.

With tears in my eyes, my he rest in peace. While I never met the man I always looked forward to his posts. His demeanor made him appear to be a class act and his devotion to his wife speaks volumes to that. May his family find peace and comfort.

A true gentleman will be missed.

Remember reading RC's posts, a very knowledgeable fellow, and no question was too dumb for him to answer, he will be missed. Prayers to his family.

May he rest in peace. I always looked for his answers to questions and knew that I could count on him to be correct. I learned a lot from him here and am grateful.

I know this is a surreal moment for more than just me. In our digital age, I always kind of scoffed and on-line friendships where people never met. Thanks for helping me understand this RC.

He is the first on-line friendship I have grieved over losing. I hope to keep him living on by passing on what I learned from him. Thanks RC!

RC was just one of those naturally giving people. I began to wonder when we didn't see his post where he was. I am sure he will live on in the hearts of his friends and family forever. He will certainly be missed.

Rest In Peace
Ron

I can't add much to what others have said.

I will say that there are a few folks on here who's posts I always read because of their knowledge. RC was always the top of that list. What made him unique was he could pack so much info into a concise 2-3 sentences post and I ALWAYS learned something from them. Even in forums that I had little interest in, I'd still read his posts and think, "man, he know so much about....hell....everything!"

Now I regret having not sent him a PM expressing how much I appreciated him. I thought about doing it several times, but never did.

Thank you RC for sharing your knowledge and sense of humor, you are missed. My prayers are for your family.

What a serious bummer. I always enjoyed RC's presence here on this board. A major part of THR has left us, and this board will not be the same without him IMO.

Rest In Peace, RCModel.
