I just checked my 2 separate orders at PSA and both were ok except that the phone# for my 8/2 order changed to a 210 area code number. My lower that I ordered on 7/30 was 100% correct but still being processed. 12 days. However, I have bought a lot from PSA and am very happy with their product. I figured that with the election coming, they are overwhelmed. No hurry.

However, I will not buy ammo from them again. When I ordered it, the website did not say it's shipped signature required. It was shipped signature required and no one is home during the day. I had to have it shipped to a local UPS Store (addl $5) and make a 20 minute drive to pick it up. No other company that I order ammo from requires a signature. I emailed them and asked if it could be sent no signature required for future orders. They never responded. I won't order ammo from them again.

Follow-up

In spite of getting a busy signal several times, I was finally able to talk to a representative. He said (paraphrasing): (1) Not to worry. There's a glitch in how orders are being "reflected" online, and that the warehouses have all the correct information.; (2) The warehouse from which my order was shipping has resumed shipping operations.

We'll see . . . :scrutiny:

Mine did the same thing. My order number started with 210, and for some reason, the order number was placed in the telephone number spot.

I ordered from PSA recently, still much slower than most online stores, but they have improved vastly.

Stop complaining folks, PSA has amazing deals, so if it takes 2 weeks longer than other places, just wait.

I never get cancelled orders from PSA. Never had an order forgotten. etc

I am glad I am not the only one who has had their name and info on the order changed. I am still a little worried about all of this panning out good in the end. It didn't take any time for them to take my money and process that and as someone else mentioned their email system seems to work great. Add in to the fact that I cannot get ahold of anyone to address the problem doesn't make me feel any better. My order is not chump change either. So, I guess if I don't have a change by the end of the week I am calling the bank and canceling payment. This is nonsense. Its not such a good deal that I couldn't get it from somewhere else at close to the same price. I don't really know what to think but when account info starts changing mysteriously, that bothers me. That also makes me wonder how secure the credit card info is...

I wouldn't mind if it were a simple matter of taking "2 weeks longer than other places." What I mind is it taking "2 weeks longer than advertised," and "no notice of impending delay."

I'm willing to wait a while and see if PSA gets my order right, and if I'm happy with the product. That said, even if they do and I am, I might be a little hesitant to order from them again. I don't want to have to call a company before I order to ask, "Oh, are y'all planning any software upgrades that I need to know about? Anything else that might delay my order?"

Received a 16" 1:7" SS upper last week. Took a little over a week from purchase to delivery. It was in stock. Impressed with quality for the cost. Would buy again

I ordered an FNS-40 from them a while back and it took about a week from when I paid to when it arrived at my FFL.

I got such a great price on the gun that the longer wait was not a factor.

I just ordered 1000rds of 5.7x28mm SS197SR at just under 36 cents a round from them (free shipping), so I'll see. I haven't even ordered my upper yet!

Update: One problem corrected

Ok. So I checked on it today. The name in the "Ship To" blank has been changed from some complete stranger back to my name.

That's a step in the right direction.

Update from my post #9:

On Thursday, my bud noted that his ship-to name and phone number had magically changed. Like several others, the phone number had a 210 area code. This cannot be a coincidence.

He attempted to call PSA, reaching nobody. He also emailed them; no response.

I called our mutual FFL and explained the situation, also forwarding a screen shot of the incorrect shipping info. She also called PSA, got no-one, and emailed them, with no response.

Friday, no change. She is closed Sat/Sun/Mon, so we'll see what happens Tuesday.

Again, he placed the order on/around the 30th. I'm forwarding him a link to this thread.

I got notice yesterday morning that the complete lower I ordered on 7/30 shipped to my FFL. All the info was correct. I got notice this morning that the BCG & CH I ordered on 8/2 had shipped. The mail to info was correct but my phone# was my order# starting with 210. So, it seems like they are catching up.

I have an 8/5 order in with them. All the details are correct.

Someone posted this on another site...

I would like to update everyone on the shipping delays that our customers have been experiencing over the last ten days or so. About a year ago we became concerned that we would not be able to keep up with order volume this fall. We decided to implement a new ERP system. We had to get it implemented before the busy season in the fall. We began implementing it August 1st. It was only supposed to take a day or two of down time. We ran into some issues with the implementation and it ended up taking significantly longer. The good news is that the new system is in place and we have begun normal operations. The new system will allow us to ship a significantly higher number of packages. We apologize for the delay, the last week has been difficult for all of us. The locomotive has begun to move and we will be caught back up very soon.

Thanks everyone for your orders and support over the years. We couldn't do it without you. On Friday I will be doing another post updating everyone on the status of some of our recent projects.

Thanks and God Bless,

take it for what it's worth.

It sounds legit to me as well.

However, they could have sent a simple email to their entire email database saying the same thing. That would have been courteous and only taken a few minutes.

I think PSA sells a quality product at good prices and will continue to buy from them.

or post it on the front page of the site.
or do a pop-over.

I'll still probably order stuff from them (their rifle kits are inexpensive but work well) but it would at least be nice to be kept in the loop.

They wouldn't be the first vendor that's tweaked my nose a little and I'll still probably do business with (looking at you, Freedom Munitions. I saw the the price bump on the day you posted the site wide discount.)

Well, I am 17 days out and I still haven't heard from anyone or been able to get in touch with anyone. If you really want to know about this company check out the BBB reviews. I hope they make up for it on this order. If I see no change by next Wednesday I am calling my bank and reversing my payment.

just got my own personal emailed copy of the 'locomotive' message, from PSA.
I'm going to give it until after tomorrow before I burn down the phones to them.

Shipping Issue Update from Jamin (CEO) PSA

"First of all I want to thank all of our Customers and Business Partners who have made the last 9 years the best years of my life. For me every day is like Christmas, I get to do what I love, live the American Dream and be surrounded by some of the best people in the world.

A lot of people have asked over the years why I started PSA and the simple answer is that like most Americans I love freedom. The highest level of freedom is to not just posses it, but to be able to defend it. At 17 I was blessed with opportunity to join the US Army. Over the last 20 years I have been given the honor to serve in the defense of freedom twice and it is the highest calling.

The direction of this country really scares me. We all sit in awe as our country seems to willingly hand over its freedom with no regard. I believe that it is the calling and mission of PSA, its employees, and every American to do what they can to spread and preserve as much freedom and liberty as possible during our time on this earth so we can pass it on to our children and our grandchildren.

The Locomotive Email

Yep, like everyone else, I got "The Locomotive Email." As today is the 10th business day following my order, I would note a few things:
  1. I am currently at double the highest estimate for my order type that was on their web page at the time of order.
  2. I am currently at double the highest estimate for my order type, as currently written on their webpage.
  3. The immediately preceding sentence indicates to me that they're probably still taking orders without notifying customers of the delays.
  4. At this juncture, I've sent 3 emails (to which I have received zero responses), made 2 successful phone calls (and ~8 in which I couldn't even get through), and written one honest-to-goodness letter.
  5. At this point, I'll believe that the locomotive is moving when I have my order in hand.

Palmetto anticipated a huge run up in business just before the election. Pretty normal as I reflect back. They took steps to facilitate the sudden influx of orders coming in this fall. As anyone who has made a software change, things never go as planned.

I order from them because they offer great products at very good prices. I continue to purchase my more expensive items from local sources but Palmetto does have products I cannot source locally so I have and will continue to buy from them. All my Palmetto purchases are items I really do not need immediately and I could care less about delivery times.

If you like low prices and quality products plan way ahead.

if I extrapolate from larryh's one data point, I should theoretically see a "shipped" notification for my order tomorrow or wednesday morning. If I do, i'll still be annoyed but at least happy my stuff is on its way.

Only tangentially related, I ordered stuff from Joe Bob Outfitters on Friday at 3pm... it arrived at my FFL today.

I got the same email others have so I called and waited on hold for the forty minute drive home from work. Once I got through I spoke with a less than friendly CS rep who was obviously tired of fielding calls about order status. Anyway he told me that they are currently shipping orders placed on August 3rd. My order was placed on August 8th so I could expect my order to ship in a few days. That's way off the mark for the five to seven day advertised shipping time. I ordered a Smith and Wesson Shield with free shipping otd for $350. My only complaint is them not being forthcoming about the delays and that they took my money out of my account knowing full well they were not going to be able to ship for several days. I might pay a little more next time to know that my order will be handled in good faith.
