The grip tang must be machined to final dimensions on a forging. There are no tool marks and what appears to be a casting line on that one. But it could be a billet lower that was tumbled in some kind of media to take out tool marks. Does actually look like a New Frontier Armory billet lower.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Love the "snek" though, and the "pew pew pew". This is almost a good as the Honey Badger lower...

My guess it is a way to semi-permanently attach the magazine. There is no magazine release either.
