They are clearing out certain models. They did this last August too. It is in store only. Most stores are sold out. Some stores missed the markdown, but if they scan the box bar code it will show the marked down price.

Some stores in Indiana marked their Ruger American rifles down to $199.

I'm traveling this week and went to four Walmarts in driving distance. None of them sell guns

Not surprising because at home it's a 50/50 split between those that do and those that don't. A $199 Ruger would have followed me home if I could find one

Seasonal clearance for fall inventory.

I purchased an American in .30/06 today for $199.00. The rest of the stock had been pretty well picked over.

Is this happening at just select Walmarts, or all of them and my local store just hasn't put new price tags up?

Oh lordy, I sure hope that works. Really been wanting one of the Americans compact .243s for my significant other. And would love a Marlin 22 mag for..... Me.

Or with their layaway starting tomorrow, both.
