How Many Carry "Bugs" As A Primary?

It depends on what you think qualifies a pistol as a "BUG". I've shot a BUG gun match and used my XDs in .45 ACP. In size and capacity, it's a BUG, but in caliber, it certainly is NOT a BUG.

This is my EDC with a spare 7 round magazine to reload if necessary.

I answered yes, because sometimes I only carry my .32 pocket gun, not often though.

I carry a Ruger LCP in my front pocket in a small Galco holster. Carry an extra magazine as well. This is my everywhere carry gun, very light and comfortable. I feel comfortable enough with it that I can get out of trouble.

If a shield 40 is considered a bud then yes

I usually carry a S&W 638 as primary, but am considering:
Colt Police Positive Special -.38 Special 4" or,
CZ-82 9mmMak (9x18).
Extra weight is a problem, especially the latter, but I like the extra rounds.

huntsman... yep, me too. The LCP is small enough to not be even noticeable. Easy everyday carry...

Having a gun is better than not having a gun.

To answer your question, sometimes I carry a smaller BUG to supplement my primary, sometimes I don't. Sometimes that smaller pistol is my primary gun and I am not carrying a BUG.

I always carry my NAA .22LR in it's folding holster, even when I don't want to carry a gun.

I sometimes carry a service handgun as well. Generally a LCR .38 spl, a Model 10, or a 1911.

The S&W 340PD .38/.357 16oz. , sometimes.

Strive to always carry the gun you would carry on the "bad" side of town.

Easy to say when you are young and healthy.
Get back to me after you have celebrated your 60th birthday...and have three back surgeries.
I used to carry a 4" N-frame, or a steel 1911. Those days are gone for me.
Unpleasant reality tends to shatter some idealistic paradigms.

Sometimes it is illegal (or requested not) to carry "a weapon" in certain places: Post Office, other gov't bldgs., hospital or other medical facilities, etc.....even though I have a CC HG Permit, but I ALWAYS carry my "legal 3 inch lock blade" (not considered a weapon), clipped to my front pants pocket.

"Better sumpin' than nuttin' ". Then, that's my BUG.

I don't usually carry a BUG. When I do, it's a 642, and I don't carry it as a primary.

Well, that's how I voted, but on the rare occasion I go for a run alone around town I might only carry the 642

Well, I tried it once but I couldn't train the junebugs to attack.

32 long j frame...often primary.
Glock 42 primary when j frame isn't.
If I feel I need to carry more I carry a Taurus pt99af with 1 in the pipe and 17 below. Another 34 rds ride opposite side to balance it out. 52 rds of 9mm had better be enough. If it's not I have pissed off the wrong tank captain.

It's not snobbery. It is the truth. A glock 17 is in fact a better weapon than an LCP for example. There are times carrying the LCP makes more sense but a duty sized handgun is undeniably the better weapon. Take your LCP and something G19 sized or bigger and go shoot a serious of drills on a shot time using scoring that adds times for hits outside the C zones. Shoot something like the hackathorn standards with each. Then tell me the duty sized gun is no better.

New Mexico has a unusual rule. You can only carry one concealed handgun at a time. Openly carrying more than one seems to be no problem.

NM appears to be the only state with this requirement.

Thinner grips are avail. for the CZ-82.

I still might have a pair of whichever wooden variety. No longer use them (the gun was sold to cure AK fever) and If found, for sale.
They make the overall ergos similar to my Russian, EG Makarovs.

I guess it depends on what you consider to be a BUG, assuming you’re referring to a Back Up Gun. I carry a S&W model 37 year round. Since it’s not a back-up, I don’t consider it a BUG.

If I felt I needed to carry a full size duty handgun on my person everyday at home/work/shopping, I would change my lifestyle.

I pocket carry 99% of the time, so I guess I'm a yes.
