Anyone ever win a gun?

I am curious, has anyone here ever actually won a gun for free?

No.

In many cases, because of the issues with actually transferring the gun, the sweepstakes will instead reward cash equivalent to the retail price of the gun. See, for example, the sweepstakes run periodically by usconcealedcarry.com

No, but once I won a basket full of different soaps and shampoos or lotions. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Perhaps that's fate telling you that you need a bath more than you need a new gun :)

Nope, but I work with a guy that has won either 4 or 5 in about 3 years.
3 were all won at one time and all were won at Ducks Unlimited and/or NWTF banquets.

I really hate that lucky @/$*#%.

When I was about 13, back in the mid-late '70s' there was a shooting contest held in our local mall that we lived within walking distance from and hung out at alot (this was obviously before the advent of the negative term "mall shooting" :D )
I got a phone call a couple weeks later saying I'd won the Daisy Red Ryder !! But, by then I'd already graduated up to a pneumatic pump-action Daisy Powerline 880 (IIRC ), and I traded the Red Ryder to somebody, for something, neither of which I can recall now.

Wait a sec, I forgot I won an AR15 at a Friends of the NRA banquet years ago, nothing special, S&W sporter rifle. Anyway, the banquet was out of town for me and I had to leave the next day, Saturday. The FFL dealer handling the transfer was not open on Saturday but another dealer at the banquet was, so they did whatever FFLs do so I could pick it up the next day. Met some really fine people there as I recall, a good time was had by all, especially me, with a new AR15 :)

Probably the only thing I have ever won in my life. I went to the IDPA nationals when
it was held in Pennsylvania. A friend and I came to the Glock display. The man there loaded us up with a tiny .45 auto that Glock had just introduced and we shot a couple
of magazines at a steel target. When we were leaving the guy in charge said why don't you guys fill out a chance, you might win a gun. I said yeah fat chance. About a month or so later we got a call and a lady said to my wife that I had won a Glock. I called back and the lady said I won a little .45 Glock. I asked if I could have something else as I had no use for a carry piece. She asked her boss and he said send us $50 and you can have any Glock we make. I chose the model 34 IDPA 9MM. Still have it and it shoots good.

Our local Outfitters Supply has a drawing for a scoped rifle every quarter. You may enter every time you visit the store. I won a Ruger American .30-06 last year. I was not impressed by the rifle. I sold the rifle and kept the scope and mounts.
