I rarely got to gun shows due to work and not a lot of things in interested in. this weekend is the Berea gun show in Ohio and I'm thinking about taking my cva optima 50cal there to sell but ive been told they are more AR, AK, handgun and collectible type events that I might be wasting my time.

any thoughts?

I've been to the Summit County show (same producer as Berea) and there were a lot of tables with ML's and supplies. One guy said he'd pay about $250 for a T/C Hawken in good condition. Seems to be a lot of ML hunters here in OH. If you don't have any luck at Berea you might consider coming to Akron on the 29th & 30th. It wasn't that top-heavy for AR/AK and such...LOTS of good quality handguns.

I think its worth a shot.
If is mostly tactical stuff and a few people are there looking for a muzzleloader, you may have one of the only ones, making it easier to sell.

Worst case scenario you get to walk around and drool on guns all day.

I hate being in a large crowd like that and supposed to hunt that weekend so didn't want to waste the hour round trip ride, pay to get in and miss hunting. hahaha.

As a seller at gun shows, if it's gun related, there is an audience of potential buyers. Many ML buyers go to pick up components and supplies so your ML will fit in just fine.

I have seen plenty of muzzle loading guns and accessories at just about every gun show I have been at. Might be worth your while just to see if there's any interest locally. Nice part is you've got a ready-made, gun friendly audience with potential customers already there to sell to.

Is there a special early ML season?
Ohio deer gun season is less than 2 months, sound about right timing to me

that's why I want to flip it now. I figure its getting close and guys will say hey I need one. I just got a new one. nothing wrong with the old one I was going to put a Nikon ML scope on it but found a package with that scope for $100 more so jumped. part of me says I should have just got the scope instead but oh well. ohio did away with early ML a couple years ago.

It's a ML just put it in the paper. If you get a free press or trader paper I'd use that, the best market for that gun would be the Amish.

A lot of folks already have a few handguns, AK's and AR's and might jst want to buy something different but not too different. I have been looking at black powder revolvers myself just for something different. I don't know much about hunting but I bet the challenge of a one shot kill from a 50 cal muzzle loader would be an interesting challenge. I say go for it. Enjoy the show. If the gun sells, great that's an extra.

I thought MIL too, Larry. For a fleeting moment I got real excited about what I can do on Saturday mornings. :)

But like they say, if it sounds too good to be true it probably can't be true. :(

<sigh>
