Found this little Gem last week. It is brand new by every possible method if determination. Blueing is 100% grips are 100% Barely visible drag line on the cylinder. No evidence it has ever been fired. These guns had aluminum frames and firing even one round would disturb the finish on the frame where flame cutting occurs.

Wish I had a box to put it in. Then it would be N.I.B.!

This model was the first handgun I ever owned, over 50 years ago. I have been looking for another nice one ever since.

But now I have a decision to make. :banghead: Should I shoot it or not? The collector in me screams NO!!! But the shooter in me says; go ahead and enjoy it, it isn't exactly in the same class as Colt hoglegs or Lugers. It will never be worth four figures, at least probably not in my lifetime. Its not a high end collectable.

What should I do? Convince me one way or the other:confused:

Shoot it! They are good all around plinkers & camp guns. Traded off my 1956 manufactured Sentinel to my brother last year. Kinda wish I had it back.

Yours is the nicest one I've ever seen.

Shoot it! It's not like it's ever going to be worth a ton of money ever! So you might as well go ahead shoot it and enjoy your trip in the Wayback Machine.

Picked me up a High Standard 107-sentinel on GB a couple of months ago.Sold a similar one years ago but not in as good of shape as this one.I'll have and will be shooting mine. This one's like brand new to made in 1966.

Still trying to figure this thing out. Hope this works. I've been shooting mine. That's what I bought it for.

I'd shoot it. You're not going to pay off the farm or put the grandkids through medical school selling it someday.

On the other hand...I can understand the pleasure of just having it in pristine condition also.

So I'm no real help.

BTW. I've got an old R101 myself. :)

Probably not too many of them around in that nice shape. Usually I'd say shoot it but since they don't make them anymore and that looks brand-new AND you have memories of that one from 50 years ago...... I'd probably put that one up and keep looking for a shooter. You don't need to have a safe queen just for the purpose of paying off the farm someday, good memories can be just as valuable.

I couldn't resist. Put a hundred rounds through it yesterday.. Shoots to the left, so I need to get a plastic punch and try to drift that aluminum rear sight without tearing it up. wish they would have used steel, but a magnet won't stick to it so I assume it's aluminum.
