Good day. I am in the market for this firearm and was wondering if all Gen 4 Glock 20's were created equal? In other words are there early models I should avoid or is every single Gen 4 Glock 20 exactly the same with the same springs etc?

Talking specifically Gen 4 here. Thanks

I believe there are some early spring variations. The recoil springs are numbered though, and a quick search online can give you a break down.

For what its worth my G20 is about a year old and it is good to go. Handles light and heavy stuff just fine.

I have one and it runs fine. Not sure if it's early or late model, but I haven't heard anything about any changes to them at all.

I see Glock's marked recoil spring assembly for the G20Gen4 (and G21Gen4) is marked 0-7-2 (part# 30077). This implies there was an earlier 0-7-1.

Otherwise, all G20Gen4 guns should be the same with no time periods/serial numbers to avoid. If you're buying used, then only a detail strip will determine what a prior owner may have done or put into any specific gun, however.

I have a recently bought Gen 4 model 20. Don't think there is any reason to nit pick, even the Gen 3 is a great gun. A normal shooter will not notice any difference.

You already have on thread going, there was no need to start another.

You started both threads in General Handguns and they were both moved, by different Moderators, to Autoloaders where it properly belonged.

Since you now have two threads here, I'm going to merge them into the original thread run

So I went to my local gun shop today and held the Gen 4 Glock 20 as well as the Gen 3. Now I already own a Glock 19 Gen 3 and no matter what I do I cannot eject the mag without changing my grip on the Gen 3 19. Even with the Gen 4 G20, I still have to change my grip in order to eject the mag. Love Glocks but its time.

My question is, do the Gen 4 Glocks come with the full extended magazine release? Its clearly larger. Because if not I would like to order an OEM GLOCK extended magazine release for my soon to be Glock 20

I've merged your newest Glock 20 question thread with your existing, recently merged, Glock 20 question thread.

It appears the Bladedude likes to spread his questions around the board ... :scrutiny:

Maybe he's surreptitiously testing the monitoring skills of certain moderators here. Not criticizing, just an observation. ;)
