and maybe I shouldn't have.

Wow what a perfect fit in my hand. I mean really. That just FIT. Like maybe the best fit with stock grips I have ever felt.

If you own one, tells me some pros and cons?

I know you asked "if you own one . . . " and that I don't own one, but when was the last time that slowed me down from offering an opinion? I shot one owned by a buddy of mine not too long ago. It felt great in the hand and shot like an absolute dream. If I had the cash on hand, well, I wouldn't have the cash on hand, because I'da spent it on a 75 Compact.

Be careful there. You might contract a new addiction. :)

I love the CZ 75 Compact size guns almost as much as the full size. They FEEL pretty much full-size in your hand until you pick up a full size gun which feels even better (to me, anyway). And they have those great CZ ergonomics, which as you noted, just FIT. I don't actually own a Compact per se, but I have two of the alloy frame Compact-size guns, the 75 D PCR (center right below) and the P-01 (top left).

As I've said, I love all of the metal CZs. Regardless of the size, I find them very accurate, 100% reliable, I love the triggers (though I've installed CGW Ultra-Lite kits and reduced the pull on DA and SA), and I love the ergonomics. My struggle is to not buy more. :)

The PCR and P-01 drove me to sell the P2000SK in the photo above because it had just about zero chance of getting out of the safe again. :) I find that the PCR "carries smaller than it looks." Below are the above two guns stacked (PCR without the rubber mag extension that I like to use at the range). To look at them in the photo above you might think the SK is significantly smaller than the PCR, but I didn't find that to be the case.

Pros: Accurate, reliable, great ergos, addictive

Cons: Heavier than comparable sized guns, somewhat harder to find holsters for, addictive

I don't have a CZ75 compact, but I do have a Tristar C100 clone. Mine is very accurate, and I imagine the CZs are probably even better. The C100 is also an alloy, so it's a little lighter than the CZ, but not by much. The only drawback I have found is its a little big for tucked iwb concealed carry. Maybe I just need to buy a better holster. I say buy it!

Cons? The sights are a little small, the inside the frame slide has less area to grab than an outside the frame slide, and the trigger needs breaking in.

Pros? The remainder of the gun and the way it shoots.

I also own the PCR which is the alloy version of the compact model.
Like you, when I picked it up it fit my XL hands like it was custom made to fit me.
It is the most accurate gun I shoot as well. Maybe it's a mental thing, maybe it's the ergos or just maybe it's the gun.

I kept the PCR over a Kahr PM9 I used to own (great gun) and the Kimber Solo I used to own. I sold them because the PCR won the battle of the carry piece and I don't like expensive safe queens that aren't collectibles. The 14 rounds capacity also helped sway me. It carries very small and is a wonderful gun in every way.

Another pro is the mags (Mec-gar that is) are cheap compared to some platforms; I personally have no problem using $20 CZ 75 mags in the compact-sized guns either.

Cons: Trigger reach and less slide to grab on to. The first may or may not be a problem, and can be reduced. The second just takes practice.

All together though the CZ 75 platform is awesome. Were you looking at the steel Compact or the alloy P01 or PCR?

I have a P01 and the grip design, overall quality, and ergonomics, with the possible exception of the smaller surface area to grab hold of the slide, are first rate. I have small size hands and the P01 feels as good and comfortable in my hand as my all-time favorite, the Browning Hi-Power.

I bought a CZ P07 after my 75SA for a carry/SD pistol.

With the large backstrap installed it feels very similar to the metal frame ergos. I'll probably still find some room for a PCR for dedicated carry, and put a light on the P07 for nightstand duty.

CZ's are indeed addicting. but considering the price s'not so bad. Definitely cheaper than my pre-lock, magnum S&W revolver addiction!

De-cocker vs. standard safety?

Can you carry it cocked and locked?

The standard safety Compact can be carried cocked and locked.

The decocker models lower the hammer to a "half cock" notch. One thing I like about the decocker model CZ is the decocker doesn't drop the hammer like it was dry fired, the hammer lowers with a low noise click-click. Plus, with the hammer on the half cock notch, the trigger is a little easier to reach.

I agree -- the BHP and the 75-based guns seem to be custom-made to suit my preferences in semi-auto handguns. In use, I never even notice that the slide grip area is actually a little shorter than most other guns so I don't see it as a negative. I like the fact the the recoiling slide is higher up on the gun than, for example, the HK above.

BTW, you need to get busy wearing some of the finish off of that P-01. :D

I'm trying just never enough time in the weekend to get to the range these days.

I have owned and shot Compacts for a number of years. IMO they are great pistols and are capable of shooting better than I am able. I have found them to be totally reliable.

I've owned and carried my CZ75 Compact for over four years now, and really love the gun. I replaced the grips just because I can't resist a black steel gun with wood greips.

The only con is I find the trigger reset to be a bit long; that was after sending the hammer with disconnector and strut along with the sear cage to Cajun Gunworks for their Ket-1 work. smoothness and break were improved a lot, but it still ahs the longer reset.

I have full size CZ-75's, and a compact 75D PCR. They are all fantastic pistols. You will not be disappointed.

Confirmed CZ addict here.
The compact is my daily carry most days and the full size 75 sees a lot of belt time also.
It may be JMB blasphemy, but the have cut down on my 1911 carry time
You will like them, a lot.

Took my PCR to the range today, along with my VP9 and USP compact. I had Trijicon sights fitted to the CZ a while back, and I honestly think that it is the best shooter of the three. I have medium size hands, and the fit is perfect. Using SD and ball rounds through all three, I've never experienced a malfunction. I have other CZ's which are also great to shoot, but I think that they created the perfect carry pistol with the PCR .Good luck !

Sums it up nicely. I've wanted a P01 to keep company with my full size CZ75, but somehow I keep getting distracted.

I recently put my 75B Compact on consignment. Hard to explain, but I just didn't like it as much as my full size. I will never part with my blued 75B, but for whatever reason I don't shoot the 75B compact as well as my 92FS compact.

I'd still reccomend the 75 compacts though, they are reliable guns and the prices are very reasonable.

The CZ75 is big, heavy and ugly gun with long trigger reach. The compact H&K is far, far superior handgun.
