Yesterday I had Walter Brend sitting at my table chatting with a 14 year old who was learning to forge, Allen Elishewitz chatting about knifemakers that grind for other knifemakers and Ethan Becker talking with some bushcraft guys. And me trying to research a, what turned out the be from 1650, katana.

Not a bad Saturday.

HSO,

My son figured out why I go to shows and consider it a good time even when I don't buy anything this past Saturday as he paid attention as he went with me this time. You described it perfectly..... just a chance to learn, see folks, see things, and not worry about the car's transmission, the failing well, and a host of other things for a few hours. Cheaper than a movie as well......

Sounds like a Sunday well spent. One where a blade enthusiast as myself would just sit and listen. In a lot of circles that would be considered the cool table. Did you pick up anything new?

An Edo period katana from around 1650 that was a bring-back was brought to me to "sell for Christmas money". It is a bit tired, but it is a known maker. I'll try to get $1,000 for them.
