I understand this will scratch the gun overtime, I am fine with that. I don't want to sew the screw spot (instead of a screw) though because there's a chance of string coming loose and that's a safety issue in my opinion

Is there a better way to do this? The screw picture shows whats on the inside of the holster.

Don't have to keep my belt as tight. I sit all day and throw my feet up on the desk, etc and with the clip I can move about with a semi loose belt and adjust things without an issue

An aluminum rivet from the inside, tight enough it is pulled deep enough into the material it cannot make contact with the pistol?

I have on occasion glued a small piece of leather over a protrusion on the inside of a holster.

I would get a proper holster that doesn't have the screw in it like that. Or, ditch it and snug your belt like a gentleman.

I walk about 50 steps total between 8:00am and 5:00pm, ill pass on snugging my belt.

And this would be considered a proper holster. Nothing to snag on, no safety issues

I have had similar problems and have found a copper or brass rivet works well, will not scratch steel. As already stated a thin leather patch glued or sewn over the fastener will help.

The screw I suggested can be covered with cloth/suede ... It is about a thin and smooth as you will find in screws ... If I had to put a screw that is what I would use ...The one side is totally smooth and very thin ... Google them ...

"...Don't have to keep my belt as tight..." Loose is loose and will cause the holster to move. However, sewing is always better than a mechanical fastener. There is no string involved and thread(use leather thread. It's waxed linen.) doesn't come loose. Otherwise, put a hunk of duct tape on the screw. Cheap and replaceable.

Good idea. I found some at the hardware store just the other day. They call them post screws also.

Brass Chicago screw. It might leave a brass smear on the gun but that is easily removable with some copper solvent.

If the Chicago screw is pulled up tight(I believe that holster is lightly padded) ... it will sink down below the surface of the surrounding area .... but even in leather they will pull down below the near leather ... unless there is a protrusion on the gun to catch ... I believe it will miss the gun ... But I have been wrong also ...so ....
