Hi all,
I've been thinking about getting a single shot black powder pistol kit, and have been researching different barrel bluing/browning solutions. I was pretty much set on using Laurel Mountain Forge's rust browning/bluing solution until I watched Mike Belvieau's barrel browning video on his Lyman GPR kit build series. He used Homer Danglers cold browning solution for the barrel, and it looked so much easier than rust bluing the barrel. What do y'all think of the Homer Dangler barrel Bluing and browning products?

FWIW, I've had the best results on my bluing projects using Brownells Oxphoblue. As with any gun finish, results are largely dependent on the details of the prep.

there are no short cuts to the blueing they all work pretty much the same. some may be a bit more potent
But are you buying an unfinished kit or planning on stripping and starting all over?
