Tikka had three interesting rifle models at the SHOT Show, one of which is their new commercial version of the rifle that's replacing the old Enfields for the Canadian Rangers up North.
Largely the same gun, except for a different colored stock.

If you've had any interest in the one Colt's doing for the Rangers (which Colt will NOT offer down here), this one's worth a look.

IIRC, a Tikka CTR with iron sights and laminated stock replaced the Enfield over a year ago - they've now replaced that CTR with a newer version?

FWIW, I love my CTR - very accurate, reliable, handy, and smooth as butter, it makes a great all-arounder. Seems like it'd be an excellent base for the Rangers' needs.

My understanding is that the Colt C19 is simply a liscence built version of the Euro made gun that is made by Colt of Canada.

Is there some other difference?

Colt might require permission to sell their manufactured guns to this design elsewhere.

I know nothing of the Canadian Ranger rifle, but I'm guessing OP is talking about the T3x Arctic.

Since I'm posting, I'll ask my stupid question... what cartridge is the Canadian rifle? I searched for the last couple minutes and, surprisingly, came up empty.

Where are the pictures?

Aka SAKO T3 CTR (Compact Tactical Rifle). "Tactical" still being a marketing term. Colt Canada started making the barrel, bolt and receiver under licence from Sako in the middle of 2016. Prototypes delivered for field tests by The Rangers(usually means whether or not they'd use 'em. They get to use 'em for hunting and polar bear defence when not keeping the rest of the CF from getting lost.) in June of 2015.

You can also find it on the Beretta/Tikka site.
Google Tikka Arctic.

Very smooth action, steel mag (NOT plastic).
Decent sights.
Good trigger.
Stock color is not the same as the Canadian Colt version.

Colt wouldn't bring the rifle down here, so the Beretta combine is making theirs available.
