My Dad got this gun when he was 10 years old from his Dad, around 1923. He was not a serious hunter, and I don't believe he ever shot the gun much. We moved to town in 1950 and it was stored in a cupboard. I know it was never shot after that. Thanks for your input.OP said it was purchased used in the mid twenties so the gun would have been "almost new" at that time. Do you suppose it may have gotten stamped at different locations on the assembly line? It appears to be hand stamped and maybe some of the stamps were worn and replaced with a slightly differently font? If it's been in the family for almost 100 years does the OP know if any mods or repairs have ever been done to it? I would bet my money that it came from the factory that way.
