Whassa matter, guy, it's just a little corn; no sense of humor? :)

Wow...that guy was determined to get few, no matter what. I've had a lot of them with both feet in one of those traps, but never anything like that. What are you using to bait them?

I was using dry cat food, fish flavor that time I got from my neighbor since I don't have a cat. I have been experimenting with different bait. With my original bait I was using they just ignored it and ate the corn.

Since then I talked to a few guys that use to trap them. They told me to put a drop of vinalla extract on the bait. He said he would catch a coon for them every night they baited their traps. He used a vanilla wafer slit into a marshmallow to assorb the vanilla stuffed to the very end of the trap. He says coon have a big sweet tooth. I'm going to try it on my cat food to see if it enhances it. I still have about 12 coons coming through to thin out before my peach trees start producing. Last year they stripped my 4 trees before I could get a single peach.

I've started using the vanilla extract on the cat food. I have since caught a coon every night so far, so I guess it's working. Without it I was getting one a week with just cat food.
