The bones of many Patriots are buried under the grass of those first eastern states.
Getting more of those still breathing to understand their legacy and act on those hard fought freedoms is the difficult task.

Ain't that the truth. The 'Shot heard around the world' was fired at a force sent out to confiscate our guns.

I had a discussion today with a man in Utah. He is very close to these BATFE issues. He said, the demand for "Suppressors", have buried their system. The BATFE system is totally paralyzed by the demand for these parts. It seems that many states are allowing "Suppressors", for hunting. This is causing a growing demand.

For the short, positive comments, see two AWR Hawkins articles on Breitbart:
ATF: 21st Century Suppressor Regulations are ‘Archaic’
Take suppressors off of NFA list? cool!

ATF Associate Deputy Director: ‘Assault Weapons’ Import Ban Nonsensical
Allow import of AR- and AK- style 'modern sporting rifles?' Sweet
Allow re-import of M-1s and 1911s held overseas? Super!

Article from a non-Infowars source with link to the White Paper. A White Paper is hardly a guarantee of coming changes, but when it comes from this level, it does give you an idea of the undercurrents inside the bureau. Also, it's likely that Turk put his name on this paper, and therefore weight behind it, but I'd bet the proposals were solicited from around the organization... Again, an indicator of internal discussions and movement... Stuff like this doesn't pop up out of nowhere, I'm sure these proposals have been floating around, but until now everyone understood that they probably wouldn't fly with the tip top dog. Someone is making their move while the cards are in the air.

Yes all of our veterans, need recognition, including civil war and revolutionary soldiers that died in battle. They were willing to give their lives for freedom

Is it also possible that these "bureaucrats" can see what is happening and are simply trying to "cover their [butts]" before they get their heads (and walking papers) handed to them? :scrutiny:

The civil servants cant be fired. They are tge grit in tge machine. I don't know if Turk is an appointee.

If Mr. Turk, the number two guy in the ATF, suddenly proposes modifying incoherent gun regs, was he in the same specific job during the later years of Pres. Obama's presidential term?

If he was then in the same capacity (and already with a secure retirement?), it seems odd that he suddenly broadcast this proposal After the Presidential election. It would not have anything to do with job security under the new President. would it?
Maybe I've misunderstood the timing or intent, or credibility of the source.

The new president and especially Trump Jr. have made it very clear that they want certain things and the agency is showing them what is available to change directly.

This is not your typical Republican establishment, they are going to make change and a big part of the base that gave him the win over Hilary who promised to ban guns and impose a new AWB is firearm right supporters. So a good part of that change may be to our benefit.

At the end of the day these are federal agents that get to do a job they like and want to keep the Attorney General and other superiors happy. That Attorney General just ceased to be one espousing the anti's desires.

I don't get the feeling this is the same ATF of the 1990s either and they have had some fairly honest rulings in recent years in spite of being under Obama.
I doubt they want to see their jobs dissolve, and Trump is someone that I really see gutting the whole thing if they felt it couldn't be fixed. So they came up with a pretty good list of things.
I think a lot more things are going to have a 'sporting purpose' pretty soon.

The Holman Rule of 1876 allows congress to defund any federal program with majority vote and pay any specific civil servant $1 per year - https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...80c990-d2b2-11e6-945a-76f69a399dd5_story.html

The Holman Rule may likely be used on Planned Parenthood and other federal programs as republicans have majority in both Senate and House.

Trump administration is already researching various federal programs to eliminate and I am sure many federal civil servants looking to keep their jobs will be aligning themselves with Trump administration/republican congress or face $1 per year salary.

We can only hope that ATF will continue to provide ideas on ways to reduce regulations.

They will allow the government to shut down and argue about the budget, for a few days. Have you noticed that when theyre no longer going to get paid their staff all go home and a few days of that gets them to agree, or at least agree to disagree long enough to approve the federal budget. Dont forget they always give themselves a nice raise ,political party lines disappear and they all agree to that . then its business as usual again. We cant win the war on drugs ,but they could control it using taxation putting countless gangmembers and the cartels out of business. Oh no I dont believe in that, All the while by law people can marry legally comitting crimes against nature but guns are evil. IM out of here have thr
e best day possible

I don't really care that the "news" is positive. Far too many people are placated by good sounding news for a situation where nothing has actually changed - grasping at straws, if you will. I want to see actual results. Feel good talk does not change a thing.

Y'all do remember when the ATF said arm brace pistol stocks were fine and there was joy in the gun world and shortly thereafter changed their mind?

The Donald should ban the assorted unelected civil servants from making law by regulation altogether. If ya'll could get him to tell 'em to quit exporting their stupid ideas, it'd be good too. We have the 'Once an MG always an MG' nonsense now too.
"...silencers would have be addressed by legislation..." Amending or repealing the NFA and GCA of 1968 and everything else pertaining to NFA firearms and devices.
