Shoot the stuffing out of it. I wouldn't bother with the the finish, so much, even if it had sentimental value. Not a bad Idea to clean it even though it doesn't look like it's been shot much.
Alright guys, it's unanimous. I'll give it a good scrub and leave it alone. It has a one of the nicest stocks I've ever seen on a Remington old or new.
Clean, don't refinish. That said, not a ton of collector value. If you refinish, use care and don't deface or obliterate markings, use compatible finishes and get help on the receiver...they are a bear to blue.
I would do what pleases you. Persinally I would leave as is. This is early one with matted barrel top. Nice guns the only thing is to wipe with oily rag or silicone rag on regular bases as those old ones rust more easily than new ones.
