Has anyone used the case and ammunition gauges manufactured by The Shooters Box? If so good or bad?

357 Magnum Case & Ammunition Gauge

I personally have the Wilson Gauges, I use them faithfully. Sorry I don't know about "The Shooters Box". But they do have a LOT of neat stuff...

Does the Wilson measure diameter and Over all length?

I do not have any of the "Shooters box" gauges, but I do have Lyman Gauges for all the rounds I reload. They are amazing and can save you many headaches at the range. If I recall correctly, they measures Diameter and allow up to Maximum OAL.

Yes, they measure Cartridge/Brass for size & fit. If the shoulder is set back too far (Longer from the opening to the shoulder), it would not detect it. If the other was the case, where the shoulder was too long, (Too close to the end of the case), it would detect.

I got started with them when I was having problems with 300 WM bullets at 3120fps causing some reshaping. So I knew if I needed to Full Size or not. Usually I full length resize anything that is a Bottleneck, just to ensure the shoulder. After some of the quicker loads, yu may need to trim to spec length. The Wilson will let you know when this is needed as well.

Good Luck

Thanks for all the input. Between Dillon and Wilson is one 357mag gauge better than the other?

I can’t say that one is better than the other. Both are quality products, just made to different dimensions. Wilson gauges are sized to SAAMI max cartridge length and diameter. Dillon gauges are sized to SAAMI max cartridge length and minimum chamber diameter.

I have both and prefer Dillon pistol gauges, but lots of folks prefer Wilson.
