Is yours single or double action? I know most of the time you can tell by looking, but in these the single actions look nearly identical to the double actions to the untrained eye (which mine is).

That may be why this one is so expensive.

The single action S&W K models are both rare and expensive. These are built on the Long actions. The trigger will retract normally in battery position. It does not have the single action trigger of a Colt system.

He stated that it had been sitting in his shop for over a year priced at $500.00 and he had just marked it down to $349.00 in hopes of getting it sold.
Yeah, but you have to get the gun registered in your state and the adjoining one due to the barrel length!

As you left, you should have smiled, waved and said, "I would'a paid the $500!"

Nah...just kidding. You got a great deal.

Good find. Excellent price. I bought mine 20 years ago at a gun show for $325.00; which was a fair price at the time. Now find an 8&3/8" model 17 and an 8&3/8" model 48 and you'll have the entire set.

I passed on a nice S&W Model 28-2 this last weekend, 6 inch barrel, rubber grips, used but good condition, $469 OTD at a local pawn shop. I have one already and but have lots of expenses coming my way in the next six months so reluctantly I had to pass.:(

Nice piece and price!

If you compare, a not so well shooting Walther 22 is on sale this week for $349, beautiful 38.

How did you do? I recently offered $500 for a 6" model 14 , not as nice as yours , and was turned down... that's how you did.

I look around pawn shops about every two weeks and have only found 1 gun that was a bargain.
About 2 years ago, I spied a nice nickel S&W model 15 with a price tag of $379. I offered them $300 and they took it. They said it had been sitting a while.
I have made some other offers but they weren't accepted. They will usually stick to their price for a few weeks and entertain offers only after it's been there a while.
I have had more luck with knives than guns.
I do have my eye on a Speed Six that a shop has had for probably 4 months now.
You got a great deal.

Pawn shops in my area only seem to have old crappy Jennings or High Points, maybe a Taurus if you're lucky... what a score you made!
