Hello, wheel gun people.

I'm a bolt action rifle guy and well out of my zone here.

I just picked up this revolver and have been unable to find good disassemble/reassemble resources online.

Any help would be welcome.

I checked the you tube but the guy has it all in pieces.
For cleaning. Break open. Backout the large slotted bolt above the trigger guard on the right side as shown in your pic. This releases the captive cylinder release lever on the left side, just above the trigger guard. Swivel the release anti clockwise and the cylinder will slide off.
The holster guide wings just remove the bolts on each side for easy removal of any leading.
I have not taken it completely apart, so I don't know of any hidden dangers. I blast the innards with gun scrubber an re oil. Works very well.
I also have the hammer spur intact. I reload for it and it's damn accurate. Factory shoots low, is under powered, and wrong diameter bullet.

Beautiful Enfield! I have the Enfield's brother in service, the Webley .38:

Here it is with original tanker drop holster, original cleaning rod, and a total of 12 original .38/200 Mk II ball cartridges (6 in the holster loops and 6 in the cylinder). :)

The :No. 2 revolver (Enfield) was never issued with a barrel length other than 5", though there were some with 3" barrels tested for possible police use in the post-war period. Ones with barrels shorter than 5" were cut down after being removed from British military service.

This one has a problem I need to figure out and I'll need to go beyond just removing the cylinder.

The hammer will not go back when the action is closed and the cylinder is properly aligned.

If the break action is open or the cylinder is between chambers, the hammer functions.

Any clues welcome.

Breakdown of the Enfield No. 2 Mk 1 and 1* is detailed in the NRA Firearms Assembly book about pistols and revolvers, 1993.

If you need parts try Numrich first.

You probably don't want to buy a whole book for the page and two-thirds about the Enfield, but that's all the source material I've got to point you to.

Just FYI, a lot of mods to British surplus guns (including S&W revolvers) was done by Cogswell & Harrison, at that time owned by Interarms. Almost needless to say, the work done by C&H was first class. Work done by other companies and individuals was not always up to that standard.

Awesome!

I got my first Enfield DAO at age 13. It was a pretty much constant companion after school and on weekends when I was bumming around our mountain property, and is still a HD piece for my family.

I finally found an spurred hammer example on GB and I had to grab it- marked "RAF", one invisions it being in a holster on a Spitfire during the Battle of Britain or lumbering in a Lancaster during a night raid on Berlin.

Or in the holster of a young Veterinarian who is in the RAF before returning to his practice in Yorkshire. :)

Points for anyone who knows who I mean.

Who loved all creatures, great and small? ;)

I'd love to have a .38 Enfield to sit alongside my .455 Enfield Mk VI. Which is hanging from my bedpost right now for use if someone breaks in while I'm trying to sleep (and usually failing.)

You're probably the only person left in the world who uses a Webley for defense, but good on ya! :)
