I came across this deal in my email. I am in need of a basic red dot. Do you think I am going to come across a better deal than this? Anything to worry about with the Sparc? Only heard good things about Vortex, but I personally haven't owned any of their stuff.

Shipping seems to be $8.50

I have a Primary Arms Micro Dot on an AR. It was $165 and another $40 for the mount. Sounds like the Sparc is very similar, you'll like it.
Makes a fun shooter with 1/3 co-witness. Mine sits next to the bed and has a mounted light.

I don't have a sparc but I have 3 other vortex optics and a spotting scope. Good stuff for the $ and a great guaranty.

A couple of weeks ago I bought the sparc ar from psa on sale for 139.99 shipped. For my BiL and his new M&P I. Very nice red dot to me. Excellent brightness in full sun. Very crisp dot. So that'd be 5.00 each on the magazines with the optic at 140.00. I believe that's a good deal. I'm waiting to see if any good deals come along Memorial Day weekend. Considering a Spitfire AR (lightweight prism scope) on my (and 7 yr old grandson) new M&P 15-22.

That's a good deal and it's a good budget red Dot with a lifetime guarantee. Vortex warranty is awesome. They will repair or replace it for almost anything. I dropped my hunting rifle with a vortex diamondback on it and they replaced it no problem (hit a Rock pretty hard). If you wanted to recoup some money you could get a $100 for the mags probably

I have the StrikeFire and the SPARC. Both have been solid performers over the years as are the Vortex binos I own. That's a great deal in my opinion as well. I paid $160 for mine at a Cabelas Black Card event when the selling price was normally $200.

Well, sight arrived today. Seems very solidly built. The mags are Gen 2 PMAGs so I guess they were just clearing out old stock. Still good mags.

I know it's a silly feature but I like the flip caps that stick together. Slick little design to keep them out of the way.

that's even the newest AA battery version. Real good deal. You can pick up the original sparcs for a 140 bucks but not a sparc II and surely not the AA version.

The one I purchased from PSA was the AA model. Very nice. I ended up putting a Vortex Venom 3moa w/ the AR riser on the M&P 15-22. Those along with a small laser added only 4.8-5.0 oz. to the rifle.

I was always kind of prejudiced against "budget" optics, but based on what I'm seeing the Vortex products are mostly GTG. Tried out the 1-4 and 1-6 carbine optics and seems like they're rather neat, great-priced, totally functional alternatives to the ACOG or an EOTTech with magnifier with ... Durability test results on Vortex gear looks mostly positive, too.
