Some of you may already know this but if not, I'm a revolver guy. I have very few semi-autos and just recently bought a Sig P320 Compact.

The more I shoot this gun the more I like it. For a striker fired pistol it has a very good trigger and it feels good in my hand. I think the balance is right too. I reload most of my ammo and my P320 shoots 124gr coated bullets very well.

Any one else been shooting a P320 a lot? Anyone not like their P320? I'm just curious what others think about this handgun after shooting it for a while.

I recently traded into a brand new full size, and I am smitten. The trigger is fantastic, and at combat ranges it punches a ragged hole off hand.

Easy to clean, soft shooting, and very accurate. For me, it's a Glock-killer. Absolutely nothing wrong with a Glock or if someone prefers them as their striker fired pistol of choice, but the P320 won me over completely.

I recently found a p250 compact mag I had forgotten I had. I think I may order up a compact frame from SIG and carry the gun in that configuration this summer. When it cools off again, I'll move back to the full size.

I can't express just how dang easy it is to pull the fcu out of the pistol. Way easier than what Beretta offers.

I own two P320s, a full-size .45 ACP and a compact 9 mm. To tell the truth, it would be hard for me to be smitten by any polymer-frame, striker-fired pistol. But the P320 works better for me than any other of that ilk that I have tried so far, and that list includes many Glocks, many M&Ps, the HK VP9, the Walther PPQ and P99, FN FNS, and a number of Springfield XDs.

The pistol simply works for me with a grip (medium sized) that fits my hand perfectly, a trigger that just gets out of the way when shooting, an overall design that balances well and points naturally, and sights that come back on line very naturally when shooting. Mine have been perfectly reliable as well.

I really like my p320 compact as well, but I still give the edge to the ppq because of a slightly better trigger. Glocks have their place in my carry rotation probably more so than the other two. I shoot the p320 and walther about the same (slight edge walther), and both better than any other striker fired guns. I haven't tried the new Cz yet. I'm really entertaining the idea of getting other frames and calibers for my p320. I haven't taken advantage of the modularity yet and at the very least will get a fde frame and a sub compact frame to carry in the summer. To be honest though I'm kind of getting bored with polymer striker fired guns and am more interested in metal guns at the moment

I handled a 250 at a gn show and found the grip a hair big in circumference for my hand (Short & wide). I have never held a 320. Do you know how does the grip on the 320 compare to the 250? The 320 is definitely intriguing. I like the XDm with the small backstrap. Have any idea how those compare?

The p320 and p250 use the exact same grip frames. You should try and hold a small grip frame to see if that helps with the circumference. There's a noticeable difference in the grip frames (small, medium, large). I don't have any experience with the xdm with small backstrap installed.

Below are photos of P250/P320 grip modules. A Medium size is on the left in each photo and a Small is on the right. P320s come standard with Medium grip modules.

I shot a P250 a long time ago but I can't remember how it compares to the P320. Like already said, both now use the same frames but if I remember correctly the original P250 grips were slightly different but again, I'm not sure.

I do remember I didn't like the way the P250 shot and didn't care for the looks either. I know the differences are small but IMO those small changes counted.

The original P250 had teething problems and SIG introduced a different type of grip module when those issues were resolved.

The newer P250 grip modules were subsequently used by the P320; there is not a huge visual difference between the guns.

A P250 has the same trigger pull weight as a P320, but a long DAO trigger stroke. To me, a P250 trigger is equal to the best DAO revolver trigger I have ever shot.

I got an email this morning, Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo had the CPO P320 Carry in 45 ACP for $399.99. It come with two 10 rounds magazines and night sights. I was looking for a polymer 45 carry gun so after a quick online review i pulled the trigger.

Where can I buy the interchangeable kit? Also, can I change caliber, say from 45 to 9mm as well?

ALL p320 owners, do yourself a big favor.
Install the APEX FLAT TRIGGER. You will not be disappointed. It does move the trigger forward a little. You can pull high up next to frame or low down on guard which ever works best for you.
The pull weight will be the same but the feel is a whole new world.

I let my G23 Gen 3 in O.D. frame go along with extra mags and recently installed night sights so I could buy the P320 Carry. I have wanted one every since I first saw them. I like the full size frame with the compact slide. I am not disappointed. It is an outstanding gun for carry. Now I'm waiting for Sig to start selling the .40 barrels (if they decide to) because I have so much .40 ammo on the shelves.

Everywhere I look on the NET they are selling the Conversion Kits but they are all out if stock. Sig has them in stock on their site but they cost the full $399.

Unfortunately you can not go from the P320 in 45 ACP to another caliber, only the 45 in a different size. The 9mm and 40 S&W Conversion Kits can be used interchangeably.

Have a full size 9mm 320 now for 2 years. I replaced the original SIG trigger with an Apex primarily to eliminate the pain produced by the original. Much improved. The gun has been very accurate and 100 per cent reliable.

I picked up the 45 compact and 357 SIG carry a few months ago. I was at the range with the 45 this morning. Sig has a winner with the P320. The grip fits me like it was made for me, the trigger is one of the best out of the guns I own, they've been reliable and they're accurate. The RX version, with a red dot sight is in the running for my next purchase.

Mine started as a Carry size in stock medium, and I've permanently swapped over to the Compact (also in Med). I only lose one round of .357 with the smaller grip so no heartache there. I also have the subcompact frame in both Med and small that I can put my upper assembly on. There is a noticeable difference in the feel, with the small feeling almost too small. I also swapped the stock trigger for the Apex model; the stock trigger had too much curve which hurt the pad on my finger when the gun fired.

I'm well invested in Glocks, Magazine, parts etc., at one time had twelve, if the 320 would have come out at the same time as the Glocks I would be invested in the 320 instead, I have the previous model the 250 which is DAO, enjoy your 320s is a great weapon.

Mainsail,

Beautiful holster. Love the rich color. What is it?

I had though the Compact is bigger than Carry? Any difference in capacity?

I continue to really enjoy mine. The wife, daughter, and I are going to do a bit of light hiking today.

Generally, I pack a gp100 when we go deep woods or where bigger critters live, but the most we'll run into today are creeps on two legs. The full size 320 doesn't weigh much more, and this will give me an excuse to try packing the gun up and down a few hills, getting it a bit sweaty, and seeing how it carries in a Safariland holster over a couple miles.

Thanks. The holster is the Tucker HF-1 in black cherry color, fully lined. The P320 was pretty much my first double-stack EDC gun, so out of habit I ordered the double magazine pouch, only later to realize I really didn't need that much ammo. I then ordered the single mag pouch in the same color. So now I have the option of carrying no spare magazine (14 rounds) one spare mag (27 rounds total), two spares, (39 rounds total) or if things get really nuts I can carry three mags (53 rounds total). My other EDC is a Legion P229 (also in .357) which fits well in the HF-1 holster.

The models, in order of size are:
Full size = Full length slide/barrel on a full size frame. (14+1 in .40/357 with flush fitting mag)
Carry = Shorter slide/barrel on a full size frame (14+1 in .40/357 with flush fitting mag)
Compact = Same shorter slide/barrel on a slightly smaller frame (13+1 in .40/357 with flush fitting mag)
Subcompact = Even shorter slide/barrel on an even smaller frame. (ten round capacity in .357)
All available in small, medium, and large grip circumference! Ideally. Not all configurations are currently available.

Like the Glocks, you can carry a flush fitting magazine in the gun and a higher capacity magazine as a spare, with or without an adapter to fill the gap.

A full size slide/barrel works on the compact frame but the subcompact frame will leave an unsightly gap at the dust cover. The Carry/Compact slide/barrel will fit on the subcompact as shown below.

EDIT to add: Notice the subcompact frame in the picture above has the rail? The subcompact LRG and MED frames have the rail, while the subcompact frame in SM does not (as shown in the first picture).

Confused yet?

The model names are SOOO confusing.

The pistol with a 3.9" barrel and 15-round magazine was originally called the CARRY (actually CARRY COMPACT on my case label).

Late in 2014, the pistol with a 3.9" barrel and 15-round magazine was renamed the COMPACT.

A new model with a 3.9" barrel and 17-round magazine was named the CARRY.

I've owned a Glock 19, which I thought was a decent enough pistol. I had been using a 1911 as my carry weapon, and it was not ideal for carry. I purchased a Sig p320 compact and absolutely love it. It feels fantastic in my hands. The trigger feels great, and it fires smoothly. I've put around 200 rounds of Federal American Eagle through it, so I'm still in the break-in period. But so far, I absolutely love this pistol.

>>I'm well invested in Glocks, Magazine, parts etc.<<

So aren't I, but it doesn't stop me from buying other guns as well. The more the merrier!
