I usually figure that scammers will mostly not bother with the BP listings on Gunbroker, but they are getting pretty regular. It is a sad day...

Beware.

This guy claims to have a "Lettered" brass frame Pedersoli with an MSRP of $1470.00

And this guy claims to prove his Euroarms 1858 "Pedersoli" Remington is authentic by showing a Pedersoli powder flask instruction sheet

I'm putting these jokers on my not to do buisness list

On the first one its states, 'Reserve not met.'

I wonder what this guy's reserve is on a brass framed Remington that commanded a $1,470.00 price tag. :what:
I fairly certain that "Pedersoli" didn't sell very many of them. o_O

But wait a minute. It comes with "a Civil War sack" and holster. $1470 is a steal for the sack alone!

I love the "customer service letter" in complete American vernacular...

I do agree with Fingers. The seller probably assumed it was a Pedersoli and contacted them with a serial number that just so happened to match a serial number that Pedersoli actually had issued in 1971, just not to this gun.

I saw the Pedersoli/Euroarms cased NMA on the first go round. I explained to him that the instructions were just for the flask. I asked him if the gun was marked DP anywhere for Pedersoli or if it was marked circle DGG under the loading lever for Armi San Paulo. He responded immediately saying that he would look and get right back to me. He has yet to clarify how it is marked.

Wow! A military surplus brass frame Remington copy! Confederate, almost certainly owned by Robert E. Lee himself! I can't wait to write the check.

Me thinks some one inadvertently added a "1" and a comma twixt the $ and the 4. That would bring the price into a realistic range, though high.

Buyer: "THE Robert E. Lee?"
Seller: " No. Bobby Lee who works at the general store. He sold it to Doc Holiday."
Buyer: "THE Doc Holiday? "
Seller:" No. Dr. Sam Holiday, my proctologist"

It is reported that Jesse Jame's mother would buy 5 or 6 cheap revolvers at a Kansas pawn shop. She sold them to tourist as belonging to her son JJ. She also sold rocks to tourist from his grave. They say after a week of good sales the rocks were all sold. Mrs. James would take a can to the creek bed and replenish the rocks on the grave. No wonder their are so many famous guns. "Bat" Masterson also sold his revolvers?:D

Similar story to John Dillinger who had a inordinate amount of blood in him and at least 400,000 thousand people that attended the Buffalo Bills, Houston Oilers play off game in the 90's even though the stadium only holds 50,000 people or so.

well at least if thats a scam it will not catch any sane person, but the crap heads who offer a high end modern firearm at half or less of its real price catch the unweary all the time, their has been a few here on the shotguns for sale not to long ago. eastbank.

If you believe that! then I have a deal for you.... a brass framed 44cal confederate Griswold and Gunnison.

I'll ask a question to clarify the add given the errors and I usually get a thank you back for providing accurate info.
I usually get a tersely worded reply that my observations are wrong, that they have an expert who verifies what they wrote, and to mind my own business. Like the guy who was selling the "original British military Brown Bess" with a pristine stock that went up to the muzzle..., no room to mount a bayonet. I pointed out that whoever did the work, bought 3rd model Bess (East India Pattern as some like to say) parts, and fitted them to a new stock (probably an IMA kit) and forgot the bayonet is supposed to mount on the barrel, with the improper length stock preventing that. Of course the bidding started at $2500.00 . Seller's reaction was like a kid getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar...in my opinion....

My favorite in the Civil War stuff was the "Dance" revolver that still had the frame bosses, because they "missed milling them off". Very rare!
(As Bill Edwards and others pointed out, the Dance guns were cut from boiler plate and had no bosses to begin with, but they bring big enough bucks that fakers actually cut the bosses off genuine Colts to turn out a "Dance" gun!)
