I have reached that point where I now need hearing aids. I have used Howard Leight electronic muffs for years and they do a good job. The problem is the muff size seems to be too small when I have the hearing aids on. Has anyone experienced this and found something they like?

If I feel I might need muffs I remove my hearing aids and put in plugs.

Some plugs like the ones my ENT Doctor made for me work so well I can't hear things that might be important. When I use them I use electronic muffs that amplify sounds. At that point I can hear the important things and when a loud noise occurs, I hear nothing.

I use the behind-the-ear aids, but I take them off and use regular amplified muffs when shooting. The muffs don't have the graphic-equalizered sound curve of the aids, but they're good enough that I can talk to people if needed.

My best response to your muffs not fitting over your hearing aids is obvious, take off your aids and just use the muffs.... plus in the ear plugs! I have lost over 30% of my hearing, plus have bad tinnitus. My audiologist suggested the more protection, the better! One does not want to lose any more hearing, trust me!
