I'm still waiting on my $50.00 rebate from S&W, not even a confirmation from them, I'm beginning to think rebates are sales pitch.

Since I was fresh out of 1911s (gave three away, including an R1, to my kids), I jumped on the GrabaGun deal. It arrived at my FFL a day & a half after ordering it. Had bought the first one 3 years ago from the same dealer online at the then good price of $529 plus a $75 rebate (which arrived in time allotted). The wife is gonna confiscate the $100 cash rebate when it gets here though.

They are a great value buy for an American made 1911, and I may order a Commander size before the rebates expire. Only shot standard fmj through the 1st R1, so I can't say about HPs. Haven't shot this new one yet:

I got my Para 1911 new for $349 a few years ago with a $100 rebate through Remington. The rebate came through fine, but it took a few months. They aren't going to mess you over.

I might do this. I have the Para 1911 and a Taurus 1911 that both work great. Now how can I justify a third 1911??

Just kind of skimmed through this. Does the R1 Enhanced 9mm have the $100 rebate?

No one wants to deal with rebate BS.....This thread reminds me I need to send in 150 bucks of "rebates" to Alcon for contacts we ordered last month. The stupid sales girl even commented how "easy" it was to file the claim this year since you can just take a picture of the codes and submit them. Still a big waste of time and ultimately money because I still don't know if I'll do it. People need to let these pigbleepers know rebates are BS buy buying full price from a competing company.

I bought a 5" R1 three years ago as a gift - $529 at GrabaGun before the $75 rebate. Nice gun - made in Ilion - very good fit & finish - the recipient says it's reliable & shoots just fine.
So last month I ordered another one - made in Huntsville - for myself from the same dealer @ $499 before the $100 rebate. Same good quality in the fit & finish, but I haven't shot it yet.
Last week bought another R1 - the 4.25" Commander - as a gift for my brother. Same impressions, great value for a "low end" 1911 (made in the USA):

I know we're all busy, but most rebates are very easy to fill out and can even be done online now. I'm not sure I understand getting mad because you don't want to take the time to save money.

I purchased a stainless R1 late 2013 / early 2014. Just shy of 600.00 w/ 75.00 or 100.00 rebate. Same deal at about the same time with stainless Para. Both ate ammo well. Both were very good 1911s imo. Rebates took around 6 wks.

Took advantage of this.. have a new stainless "enhanced Commander" in hand. Excellent-feeling gun in hand, but have yet to try it out. Will come out to about $650 with the transfer fee and NICS.
