22 lcr defense?

The whole point of carrying the .22 either LR or Mag is the fact that they weigh so little and are so small that they are most likely to be with you as opposed to some place else.

The NAA Pug is a pretty small gun. It can be either a .22 LR or Mag or both, and they also have a Laser Grip for the gun which makes it quite possible to hit out farther than the iron sights will allow.

With the Birds Head Grip the gun is not too easy to hold onto. However with the much larger Black Widow Grip it is pretty easy to hold onto even with .22 mags because I can get all three fingers on the grip.

The .22 Mag is much more effective than .22LR due to higher velocities and better bullets and that why it is the round I chose for my gun. I do have both cylinders but will probably never use the .22LR cylinder again.

Obviously you have 5 shots to deal with your problems and even though I have a 10 round speed strip with me it would take at least a minute to reload the gun, and that's if everything went right, and you could find good cover. If the assailants were very determined I'd probably be screwed. Hopefully at that point being lucky rather than good would have to get me thru.

Still it is way better than nothing.

i have a friend who has bad wrists, he has had surgery and can't take recoil even from the 38, he's on a fixed income as well and wants the 22 lcr for low cost shooting and recoil. i do wish he could shoot a larger gun but his hand and wrists won't let him but he has good finger strength, i know any gun is better than no gun so what ammo would be best in the lcr 22? and would any of you carry the 22lr if you couldn't carry anything else? thanks

Beware of 5 things: 1. A man who is below average height.
2. An angry man/fanatic of any kind.
3. The man with only one gun/rifle.
4. A man who has lost his family.
5. A .22 caliber firearm

I just sold an unfired LCR in .22 mag because I realized the ballistics weren't enough of an advantage out of a 2" bbl. The .22long rifle LCR would be better much because I believe it holds more rounds.

would any of you carry the 22lr if you couldn't carry anything else?

At the risk of speaking for others, I believe the answer would be yes. If someone had a beat up old S&W model 30 in .32 S&W long, that would be even better, but the .22 could be an effective SD weapon...better than pepper spray, certainly.
