"Now you jest hold on a minnnit, Mr. Bad Guy, while I rummage around in my boots and see if'n I kin find my pistol - I know it's in there sumplace. Shootin' me while I'm tryin'; to find my gun is agin the rules!"

I know quite a few people that ankle carry a BUG.
The retention strap is a great idea.
Im gonna "appropriate" that design one day.

I have a mental image of you kicking you leg up like Michael Jackson and quick drawing on a bad guy.
:)

There are many people who carry a boot knife, why not a handgun? IMO is probably better than a ankle holster and much more comfortable.

I'd have to disagree with you. Boot carry is much slower than an ankle holster. Ankle holster is lower on leg so more accessible.

Isn't there a boot quick draw scene in a Kurt Russel film..... .... Tango and Cash, that was it. Though I think the boot WAS the gun, or somesuch

Rule one of gun fighting .....avoid gun fighting.

Rule two.....Have a gun. Gun in boot beats gun in safe every time.

Sure there are faster ways and places to carry. If this works for you, especially if you are already carrying else where, go for it. I like the added strap on your boot.

Tried it over 40 years ago, when I used to regularly wear cowboy boots and carry a .380 Walther PPK. Found the boot carry uncomfortable and way too difficult to draw quickly, and abandoned it after a short period of time. Tried ankle holsters too, slightly better but not much, same reasons. Been an IWB .38, 9mm or .45 guy pretty much ever since. (Other than a short period of time when my job had me spending a lot of time sitting in a car, where I found a shoulder holster worked pretty well!)

I think it would be an excellent carry method for someone seated alot as a BUG. Or if you carry a primary strongside IWB and a BUG weakside on the inner side of the boot. Then your covered seated or standing, buckled in your vehicle, if either hand/arm is injured, if you get knocked on your back while fighting for your life.....or in the midst of that Michael Jackson Tango & Cash kick :)

I carried a snub in my boot many times when i was working narcotics. I did it mostly so i could have a gun and not worry about being made it wasn't uncommon to be checked. They didn't so much make you for a cop but was afraid you might be there to rip them off if you was armed. Of course it depended on what type of people you was dealing with as some were always armed. I always felt it was better there then in the car

I just worked up a sweat trying to kick-start a Suzuki 70 with my lcp in my boot.
I didn't get the bike started, buy my pistol stayed put! 1499361342778-964610643.jpg 14993614141091116694521.jpg
...aand no, I don't carry this way all the time. Only once in a while.

I carried a G26 in an ankle holster inside a work boot for well over a year. It wasn't too bad considering it was the only way I could easily carry at the time. The draw was probably a good 3 seconds, but better than nothing.

I think when considering deep concealment it's important to realize that in a direct confrontation, you're probably not going to get to it. But in a situation where you are within a group or crowd, it can be viable, as the aggression may not be focused directly upon you.

i don't want to take my pants off to get a gun i need RIGHT NOW. like ankle holsters/ belly bands with a tucked in shirt.......... no thanks i'll pass

Packing that small of a gun inside my boots would certainly be pretty comfortable, BUT it won't be very accessible if I need to get it in a hurry. No thanks!! I'll stick to pocket or IWB carry so the gun can actually be put into service quickly.

Very nice job, Armored farmer! :)

In the mid'80s I bought a pair of cowboy boot and tried very hard to like them but they restrict my mobility too much. I like to be able to move quickly if necessary and I cannot manage that with those boots on ... Moving Quickly in those boots is usually followed by Falling Down. ;)

For relatively deep concealment, boot carry looks like a good option ... if you can readily pull your pants leg up over your calf (I cannot doe this with my 501 without a small handgun in the top of my boot ... muscular calves, dontchaknow?). Probably what I would have to do is wear baggedy-ass jeans for this to work.

For the past decade when I have felt the need, I have used one of my PoliteSociety ankle holsters with my P3AT.

A word of caution to boot/ankle holster carriers. Keep it clean. A blast of shop air a couple of times a week, if you please. Back in the 90's I had a Fed show up for a qualifier and wanted to shoot his boot carried PPK. It jammed after the first shot. Road dust and leg hair/dandruff didn't go well with the nicely fitted stainless PPK and slowed the slide enough that it failed to feed. He turned it in for a Model 60 Smith. I would imagine a locked breech arm would fare better than a blow back, but still why take the chance.

Hey, you know what...I'm not trying to convince anyone to carry this way...,I rarely do myself. But we don't all live and work in the same environment. Some of these responses are borderline rude. If yall do what I do....you might explore some other options too.
If you don't like the idea.,,,fine.

I like the idea armored farmer and just like Blkhrt13 I'd give it a try if I had the right combo. Might be a tight squeeze in my everyday work boots though. 0716171843.jpg
