Goons Gone?

I spoke with him a few weeks ago, he's doing a '51 Navy for me. He has been having some health issues and fell a bit behind on his work. Perhaps he is just busy working. Hope he is doing OK.

I just spoke with him 2 days ago, and he is definitely having health problems, but still plugging ahead with his backlog of pistols. He was going to the Dr., had been putting it off and getting worse.

Hey guys!
Just letting y'all know I'm fine and mostly dandy. I've had a few good bouts with gout this year and am on a healthy diet now, trying to keep it away and keep the meds (which aren't good for you either) away. Doing pretty good with it now. The biggest problem with the revolvers is the number of old (60's/70's) offerings that have worn out, not available parts. They will eat up the better part of a day faster than anything!!
If I have a revolver from you, it will get done, just understand that if yours has an issue (loose arbor, ect.) I can't let that go and send you a precision revolver. Most things "out of the ordinary" don't take much time but it does add up in the grand scheme of things.
My promise to you is that your revolver will be the most precise revolver it can possibly be.

Thanks,
Mike

Goon - I've been gout free for five years now. My rheumatologist put me on 200 mg of Allopurinol (I'm a big guy) after I had several attacks in the same year. I had been experiencing an attack after the Thanksgiving turkey fest each year for a while and had cut my intake of that delicious bird drastically but I guess I over compensated with other purine rich meats and veggies (what do you mean I can't eat asparagus?) What can I say, I'm a carnivore so there it is!!! I can have ONE serving of turkey now at Thanksgiving but NO sandwiches from the leftovers for several days. I watch my wife slather mayo on the white bread and slap down TWO big slices of turkey breast then top it off with a slice of jellied cranberry sauce and all I can do is drool. By the time the purines are out of my system, the turkey leftovers are gone from the fridge. I now know what it was like for my Dad. He had a pair of over sized loafers that had the sides cut out right where the side of the big toe made contact. He was an ObGyn and had to be able to "stand and deliver" when the babies were ready to be born, gout or no gout! I hope you get it under control - I know its a living hell when its in full flower.

Thanks E.K.!! I can appreciate your words (I'm of the carnivorous variety as well!)!! Your father must have been a though son of a gun!!! (I guess we all are . . . . at least to a certain extent!!)
Thank you,

Mike

Yea, I can imagine that it is kind'a hard to do your gunsmithing with your feet propped up above your heart to keep the pain down to a sub-screaming level.
