What brand, size, materials do you recommend for a 9mm pistol?

Is there a can out there that will work on a pistol and also work on some rifles without adding extra weight for the pistol?

I have a Trident 9HD that I use on a P226 and M11/9 with Lage upper. Need two different mounts, but it works great an is a robust can.

Any 9mm suppressor will work on a 9mm rifle as the "uncorking pressure" with the longer barrel is less, although it may be more difficult to keep ammo subsonic with the longer rifle barrel -- any supersonic "crack" makes it much louder when shooitng.

If you want it to shoot 9mm and "rifle rounds" like 5.56 or 7.62x39 or .300 BO supersonic, your options are more limited and you will pay a weight penalty compared to a suppressor that is only pistol rated.
Most 9mm cans should be OK for .300 BO subsonic. But verify before you buy.

None that I can think of. The lightweight rifle cans all have too small a hole for 9mm, and standard pistol cans won't take the pressure of most centerfire rifle rounds.

I don't find the Silencerco hybrid particularly awkward on pistols, though. At 17 ounces with the piston mount, it's 5-8 ounces heavier than most dedicated pistol cans, but can be used on rifles up to .338 Lapua & .45-70 gov't. It's also full auto rated, so while not as quiet as something like the TBAC Ultra 9, you won't smoke it doing rapid fire or mag dumps.

This is it's silhouette on my G-20, and supersonic 10mm loads are still perfectly tolerable if shooting outdoors in the open:

Here you can hear it on a .380:

It's pretty borderline on a 5.56mm SBR, but my ears were not bothered by .308 out of an 18" barrel on an outdoor range. Made my .22 Hornet sound like CCI quiet .22 from an unsuppressed rifle!

The other upside to that large through bore seems to be less back pressure; I have not noticed gas in my face, even when I ran my 10.5" 5.56 upper with the Hybrid on my SOT friend's M-16 lower.

Another perk is that the Hybrid uses the same pistons as other Silencerco cans. So when I add an Osprey to my stable, I don't have to buy other accessories.

Take a look at the liberty mystic. Is is an overbuilt pistol can that can handle limited rifle. Not the quietest can though.

I have an SWR Octane 45 (now sold by SilencerCo), it's also available in 9

They're multi-caliber, and full auto rated.

Besides 9mm pistols and carbines they can also be used safely with sub-sonic 223 & 300 BlackOut (notice I said SUB-SONIC; full power 223 & 300 BlackOut will blow it apart )

I bought the 45 because that's what I mostly shot at the time but lately I'm getting into 9mm carbines ... I've seen YouTubes that show the 45 is actually quieter than the Octane 9 because the 45 has more volume ... I also have an HK sear and M16 so over the last few years it's gotten a good workout ... Lately my 9mm MP5 SD has been enjoying it with a custom adapter an member on another form made for me

The newest MysticXs are rated for most rifles, up to and including .300 and .338 Win Mag. The weight is not bad, but it is pretty long with the fixed barrel adapter.

I just settled on, and ordered, an AAC Tirant 9m through silencershop. It should be great for pistols, and 9mm carbines.

I did the same thing recently. I've had a Ti-RANT 9 for a few years now so it was an easy decision to order a 9M to go with it. I have a SIG MPX SBR that's showing up soon and the modularity of the 9M is interesting. I'll most likely run the 9 on the MPX and use the 9M on the P320 TACOPS. AAC makes excellent pistol suppressors for sure ... this will be my 5th pistol suppressor from them. Too bad their QD system for their rifle suppressors wasn't equally well executed since they have the sound reduction part down pat.

If I ever get a pistol can, its going on a Glock 26. I used a suppressed MK23 many moons ago- it was like a desert eagle without the can, and ridiculous with it. No use for a handgun that weighs a ton and is as long as a MP5K, regardless of how cool it is.

Should I be offended by that remark?

That's a picture from a week or so ago, I have several braces from the first time the BATFE reversed their position on braces, now that they have reversed their reversal, I ordered a steel end cap and put on this ACE push button hinge and Shockwave out of the parts box and put it on this last weekend.

Do you have a price cap?

Just curious. I've spent a FORTUNE on guns and toys over the last 36-37 years..

Some of my best shooters are not really expensive.

Neither is my go-to carry weapon.

After re-reading your post, I don't understand your comment about not adding extra weight ... but my Octane 45 is full auto rated and can be used with any pistol ammo 45 caliber and under and subsonic ammo up to 300blackout ... lately I've been useing it more on 9mm carbines than anything

SWR Octane HD II in 9mm, here :)

Great can. I can use it on my 22, my CCW 9mm, my 9mm SMG, and if I ever get a 300Black upper, I can use it for sub sonic. Like he said - ONLY sub sonic.

Two really cool things about the HDII: (1) SS baffles, dip and go (2) The baffles "snap" together so none of the fouling actually makes it to the inside of the tube. This means you could run 1K rounds of filthy 22 though it and still just push the stack out with your finger. You'll never get it so nasty you have to tap it out with a wooden dowel.

Me too, "Fortune on guns" that is but for a long time I carried a 2-tone Polish PA-63, then I went to a Glock 19 but I scaled back to the smaller and lighter Glosk 43 ... Carrying some $1,200 Kimber Pro-Carry CDP doesn't make sense ... If you have to use it, chances are if there aren't any witnesses some LEO will take it until the investigation is over, even then, you might not get it back.
