Good day, I've went to purchase some 12 gauge 00 buckshot the other day. I notice that on the shelf they had Federal power shok 00 buck 12 pellets 4.99 for a box of 5 on sale, and there was right next to them Federal vital shok 00 buck 12 pellets for 7.99 ??? Same FPS, PELLETS, Same brand just two different color boxes. Anyone have any thoughts on this besides the price, what makes them different. Thx in advance

I dunno for sure, but I'm thinking one of them (the Vital-Shok) probably has Federal's proprietary and highly popular "Flite-Control" wadding, that helps keep shot patterns tighter, for farther effective shots.

Fed's higher-end buck & foster slug loads are worth it, IMO.

Flitecontrol wad with buck is great for most shotguns and the Trueball foster slugs are the most accurate fosters I have found across my slug-throwers.

From www.federalpremium.com
F130 00 Power-Shok:
"Many hunters use buckshot to bring home the venison—and with the dramatic power of our available loads, it's no wonder. Each load features a Triple Plus® wad system that gives you better shot alignment and a granulated plastic buffer to keep shot pellets uniform in shape. You get tight downrange patterns and better stopping power with Power-Shok Buckshot."

P156 00 Vital-Shok:
"There's no questioning buckshot's performance at close range. Our patented spiral stacking process with plastic shot cup and buffering ensures dense patterns and a powerful blow. The Premium shot is copper-plated for uniform pellets and deep penetration."

Yeah I wouldn't spend the extra 2 bucks. As far as buckshot is concerned, you're probably not going to get any noticeable difference in results, except maybe tighter patterning. Anything your shooting with buckshot probably won't notice the difference either. LOL
