Welcome. Did you post an intro in the "new members" thread stickied at the top of this forum's page? You can tell us more about yourself there, or here in this thread you started, and maybe you'll find some members here with closer interests to yours, and maybe even some near you..

Greetings all - have been reading this group for years, decided to finally sign up as a user. Interested most aspects of firearms in general, reloading, and gunsmithing, as well as promoting safe firearm use and second amendment rights. Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July!

My name is John, I go by Reno as it is my nickname, I am a disabled Army Veteran and am about to get my feet wet in reloading my own ammo. Looks like I can get a large number of questions answered quickly here, if I can find the right areas to ask them, LOL! I will try hard, I'm a fast learner!

Hello all. New member here. Something about myself? I have hunted and have been shooting guns my entire life. Now at the age of 39 I am passing the techniques down to my 9 year old (who has now taken over my baby, 220 swift). I am knowledgeable about proper techniques when it comes to shooting at ranges out to about 250-300, however I am learning and teaching as i learn the long range game. Recently purchased the RPR in 6.5 creedmoor as i have lost my 220 to my boy. He is ready to learn more, as am I, and look forward to gaining some knowledge.

Nothing has made me get buck fever more than being with my son as he scored his first triple crown in PA youth hunts. That is what it's all about right there passing down the tradition and I am a true believer in the bumper sticker saying "kids that hunt and fish do not rob and steal."

Thanks Guys

Hi there. I have check these forums for info in the past, but this is my 1st time posting.

I recently won a lot of unidentified pistol magazines in an online auction. After taking out the ones I recognized for my own use, I am left with some I have not been able to definitively identify. What would be the best forum for a game of "Name that Mag"?

Howdy folks, from Okie-land.
I've been lurking here for quite some time, sort of feeling the place out. Seems civil enough, so I'll jump in.

Been reloading since the late 1980s. Mostly into handguns - almost all wheelguns, but have a few bottom-feeders too. Some long guns, but not my love. Casting my own projectiles is the way I'm leaning now.

Did a stint in the Army, was an automotive machinist, then heavy-line mechanic, then shop foreman. Now self-employed, in the materials transportation biz.

Hopefully we can learn something from each other. Looking forward to interacting with the crowd here.

Greetings from Missouri. I'm an old guy (mid 60's). Been reloading rifle rounds for decades. Just decided to reload 9mm a few months ago. Lots of good info here. Am a member of a few other forums under a different name. Haven't tried reloading shotgun yet...maybe someday.

Hi from mid Ohio. I am no longer a hunter, but I love to shoot. As a son of a Marine I can't remember when I first shot my dad's .22. I was carrying a shotgun hunting, and shooting trap with him by 12. I tell people I grew up with an M1 garand, and a 1911 as friends. I love military rifles, and hand guns. If it doesn't have tires and an engine, or go bang, I have limited interest. Bill

Hello all,

New member from SW Pennsylvania. I'm a 1911 guy myself (Springfield RO compact, MilSpec, and a Kimber CDC,) but I'm starting to take an interest in revolvers. Just ordered a Super Redhawk 44 Mag.

Looking to learn a lot.

Brad

Hello All,
I'm AmericanMeet, based on a derivation of the meat jobbers company my parents owned in San Francisco prior to the city taking possession of the property under eminent domain. That was about fifty years ago so I had to change professions, from which I've been retired nearly 10 years. My current avocation is volunteer with Wa St. Fish & Wildlife, primarily involved with Hunter Education. I am interested in anything that goes bang although when in New Zealand where suppressors are commonplace, they only go pffftt.

Hi all,
I am an avid gun collector, I love to do gunsmithing, shooting, collecting, hunting and I own all the stuff to start basic reloading but have yet to set up my bench. Naturally with how often I'm working on guns I've visited this site a lot but only recently decided to take the plunge and become a member

Hi everyone and thanks for allowing me to join THR. I semi new to collecting guns but I have learned it's very addictive. I just posted a question about a GLOCK 17 Gen1 I picked up. Any advice on this gun would be appreciated. I posted all the details in the thread. Thanks again!!!!

Hello from Georgia, been reading on this forum for a while joined a couple of weeks ago.

Hello everyone, just wanted too introduce myself. I acquired my first gun in 2014 (91/30) and now have a CZ75, a RI 1911, and a SD9VE. I mainly shoot my 1911. Anyway I just wanted to say hi!

Hi All
I just bought a house in an Ohio township. Its great, no city taxes and legal to shoot on my 3.35 acres. I just give police a call so they dont waste time chasing gunshots. I can pop off a magazine and then go make dinner. There are 23 firearms in my collection with the 24th is coming next week. I just got a Hatfield 12g autoloader for plinking at Walmart for $198 plus tax. I read the reviews both bad and good and decided to go for it. I ran 4 boxes of Walmart Winchester ($19.56 rollback for 100) almost back to back through it without incident. I dont hunt just target shoot. The pallet I blasted has seen better days but I always shoot safe. I do have a question, do any other Hatfield auto loader owners happen to know if there is a particular tube extension that is compatible. I have yet to walk in to a gun store and do it the hard way. Thanks and I really enjoy this site.
Dave

Hello i live in Ky. and have been a member now over a month and i just love this site, everyone has been so much help to me as i have already asked questions and got great answers. I have read so many posts and learned so much from reading, its kinda addicting to me to learn so much, I'm sure some of my questions seem simple to most of you guys but i just want to learn the right way to reload so i will be asking more questions in the future. Thanks to Everyone here.

This forum is one of my favorites. The "temperament" is about the best I have seen online. I guess that's why they call it the High Road. Most people are friendly and helpful which I can't say about some other forums I visit. Great knowledge base across multiple categories/platforms

Yes indeed, this is a great bunch of guys. To learn the right way to reload, you absolutely must get one of those thick, hardbound reloading books from the bullet manufacturers. I recommend Hornady's. You see, you need to know the physics and chemistry involved in each of the components, as well as the reasons for certain steps or cautions. The educational section in these books takes you from the very basics to reloading safely and competently. These guys on THR will answer your questions, but what if there is a question you didn't know to ask? It is nice to know enough to be competent. Good luck.

Hi my name is Mike i'm in Ky. i love to hunt and i like and have long guns and hand guns , i have had guns most of my adult life.. great site

Welcome to THR Mike. Be sure to use the search function if you have questions. But if you don't find your answer, start a thread and you'll get replies pretty quick. Just be sure to be as specific as you can and post pictures if you think it might help.
