pocket swager help me choose

Personally I am happy with the RCBS press mount unit. If it wasn't a choice my next one would be the Dillon.

No experience with the RCBS but I have swaged thousands of 30-06, 308 & 223 GI cases on a Dillon. They are built like a tank, easy to adjust and very smooth operating. Dillon's no nonsense warranty can't be beat, but RCBS has always had stellar CS as well.

I have the RCBS, Press Mount, it works OK, the Dillon is getting tremendous reviews...

I started out swaging, but now only use a chamfer tool. Fewer problems overall.

Forgot to mention that I started reaming primer pockets in the 50's, upgraded to the RCBS press swager then to the bench mounted Dillon. Hand reaming was very slow and occasionally resulted in less than snug primer pockets. Press swager was an improvement, but the Dillon produces very uniform, snug pockets much faster & w/absolutely no drama.

Dillon, and don't even look back x2. No question for me. Best 100 bucks I ever spent.

To get consistently swaged pockets with the Dillon tool, the case head thickness must be the same and burrs from flash hole punching need to be removed. It will work without doing either, but it will not swag all pockets the same.

You did not say if this for a SS or a AP. Of the 2 the Dillon is the better choice. Don't over look the CH4 unit. It's better than the RCBS. I use the Swager unit for my LNL-AP very fast and efficient.

Dillon = $$$$ but mine has been worked hard for over a decade and it is still going strong!
