The Ruger PC9 mentioned above are no longer made, but if you can find one at a decent price, they are great little carbines. I own 2 of them. The second was a police trade-in that I found for under $200 a few years ago.
You dog you. You did well. :)

Ok guys I'm wanting a carbine in 9mm to go along with my Springfield XD subcompact, but I have a few questions for those who may own one, first is, what do you have and or recommend I have looked at the HI-POINTS and for what they are I like them I know there are those who will say stay away from them but I like them if for nothing else than just a truck gun.

I would also be interested in an AR platform too, and what is the recoil like on any of them ?
The reason I ask this is because I have cancer and have a chemo port in the pocket of my right upper chest area where you would normally place the butt of the rifle you are shooting and I do not want to damage this in anyway. So what do you all suggest I look at ?

Any and all help is appreciated.
Thank you

Recoil is minimal but there is still some. You can try to learn shooting left-handed to avoid injury to your right chest.

I heard the HiPoint carbine is decent, but spend a little bit more on AR-style 9mm carbines for around $500. They are usually better quality and finish. Palmetto State Armory has some good sales. You can also look at Just Right Carbines.
