There's a thread running about your most recent acquisition, so I thought I would ask about your latest liquidation, just for kicks and grins. Also, why did you sell?

My latest sold gun was a nickel plated 6" 1970 Colt Python that I had shot very, very little. Did ok on it. Selling a some to pay medical bills. I hope to be able to keep the ones with the most sentimental value.

What say you?

The last gun I sold was a Walther PPK/S. I had run into some tough times and needed the money. A few weeks, before, I had sold a S&W 659.

This was in late 1991.

Last gun I sold was a Para 1911 Government. My wife loved my XD-S .40, and wanted one for herself. A buddy at work wanted my Para. I wanted the Ruger SR1911 Commander that my wife had lost interest in. A little bit of swapping, and everyone was happy. We all still have them.

Glock 43. I didn't like how it hurt me every time it went off, which was every time I pulled the trigger. It was very reliable - never failed to go "bang," and never failed to hammer my wrist and pinch my trigger finger.:D

Smith and Wesson 638 and 642. The lock on the 638 failed and locked the gun up. Didn't trust either after that. Besides the 638 wouldn't shot the same loads as the 642 without flattening the primer.

I found it easier to carry a Shield or Xds

Sold my Mossberg Shockwave. While it was cool, I never used it. Sold it and used the money to buy camping stuff for my kids.

The last gun I sold was an Iver Johnson Cadet 55-S. Neat little revolver in really nice condition, but it did not shoot anywhere near point of aim. Sold it on Armslist with full disclosure, put the money towards a 9mm for the daughter. She got the best end of that deal.......

Ruger American wood stocked 22RF. Never liked the trigger on any of the Americans that I have had. The accuracy wasn't up to snuff either. I have 3 or 4 rimfires that shoot better and that is after trying 8 or 10 brands of ammo, including some match ammo. If they don't shoot they don't stay in my house.

Girsan MC28 9mm. Supposed to be a good gun and I'm sure it is from all the reviews and videos I've seen. But I bought it online without having seen it in person and it just wasn't a good fit for my hand. I couldn't activate the magazine release without breaking my shooting grip, which is a deal breaker for me.

Sold it yesterday morning and by lunch I had replaced it with a Walther PPQ M1. Much better fit.

I sold my Sig P250c 40sw but I also sold my HK USP 9mm, both to fund my Glock G29 10mm.

Never looked back.

I sold a Charter Arms AR-7 to a friend in about 1980 shortly after I bought it. It was sort of a case of buyer's remorse for me and my friend was really enchanted by it. He got into a financial bind some time later and offered to sell it back to me. By that time, it looked like he had been using it as a boat anchor in a salt marsh, but I paid him what he had given me. I cleaned it up as best i could and got it working again and gave it to my fiance (now my wife) when I left town for a new job. She ended up having to use it to defend herself when someone tried to break into her apartment - now it will always be "her" gun.

It's not gone yet, but will be soon, a Yugo SKS that was a bubba special, and I don't shoot it, don 't even like it. What was I thinking when I added this to the stable. LOL Going to turn it into another AR, as the LNL is set up for cranking out 223s' and the price of bulk bullets are great compared to a couple years ago.

Sold four Glocks: 41, 17L, 23 and another 23. The 41 and 17L are not on the CA roster, and were worth a lot more to other people than to me. The 23 pair were my car guns when all the LEOs locally carried G22s. Now they have moved to G17s, and I rid myself of .40S&W. The proceeds bought seven .22lr guns, and I can shoot those with the grandkids on my backyard range. I still have nine Glocks in 9mm and 45acp. No need to keep guns I'd rather not shoot - freed up space in one safe, consolidated some ammo, and funded some fun - and made the 41 and 17L buyers very happy.

Earlier this year, I sold a Glock 36. I liked the gun but the 45 acp was just to much for my arthritis.

I have Arthritis and I still shoot my 10mm. I'll admit not as much as I used to as I haven't went to the range much anymore.

I sold two on the same day about 6 months ago.

One to a friend - and one to HIS friend.

I sort of regret both sales.

To my friend - a S&W M&P Model of 1905 target model .38 Special in VG+ condition from about 1923
To HIS friend - a S&W Model 19-3 Nickel 2 1/2"

Kimber Ultra Raptor II. I decided that carrying a metal gun was unnecessarily uncomfortable and heavy. Since the aluminum-framed Kimber shot no better than my Rock Islands but was less durable, and had less warranty at that, I sold it to buy a Taurus 454.
