I really want to try one of the Ghost Inc. 3.5 trigger kits in my 17L, but am bewildered when I
get on the web by the variety of them. Can I get a few opinions as to what you like , how it is holding up, and is the kit worth the effort of installation.

Thanks,

JT

I purchased a Glock 17 gen 3 a few months ago and added the Ghost Rocket 3.5# connector, connector only no springs were changed. This is a drop in connector, no modification is required. It really improved the trigger pull which now measures about 3.9#. This is an easy modification and I definitely would recommend it. Cost is about $ 27. The G 17 with the 3.5# Ghost connector is now my favorite!!

(from the Ghost website) GHOST ROCKET 3.5 for Glocks GEN's 1-4

I have the standard $12 Ghost 3.5 connector in my G23 and it markedly improves trigger weight and feel. It smooths up the stagy, imprecise "wall" of the OEM trigger and lightens overall trigger weight. Easy as pie to install, assuming you can strip your glock to the frame, which you should be able to do easily. Remove the ejector housing, twist the trigger bar out of its slot, pry the OEM connector out of the side of the block, insert the new connector, twist the trigger bar tab back into its slot, and reinstall the components into the frame. Takes about a minute. Well worth it IMO.

The packaging says "lighter, smoother, crisper trigger" but the online info for the basic one says "lighter, smoother" which I would agree with. The intent is to reduce or remove the "wall" that hinders the movement of the trigger front to rear in this trigger system. So it's more revolver-like and smooth. In that regard it works well. If you're looking for a "1911-like" defined wall and crisp break, you'll need to throw more money and parts at it. I've shot a Salient and a Taran Tactical with full trigger jobs and they are VERY nice glock triggers. But you will paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

This is a good video discussing the Ghost connector and its benefits

Trigger connectors are quite simple to install once you get the hang of it. Most aren't all that expensive either so go ahead and experiment. Everyone's preferences are different. I tried the Edge first. Very different feel with no wall. Next I tried a standard 3.5. Didn't notice much improvement over stock. Finally I went with a Glock 3.5 minus and settled on that. All that said the biggest improvement with my Gen 4s came from swapping the stock trigger bar with a Gen 3. Much smoother and lighter but still Glock.

Thanks for the replies.
Kinda thought in the end it was gonna fall to me to pick one.
I'll start this project with the economy shovel.

I'll watch the videos at my brother's place (high speed) this weekend.
The Century Link folks were honest when they told me that my high speed of 3 megaytes
was 'like dial up with a home phone that works'.
I can hear the audio, but the picture just jumps to random still shots most of the time.

Oct.7th the eyes of Texas (and the country) will be in College Station where
the ring, and all it stands for, will be earned.

Just get the OEM part. Made by Glock for Glocks. Never seen any reliability issues.

I used the ghost 3.5 in my G23, and also did the polish job on all mating surfaces. I have to say it transformed the feel of both the pull and the reset, and has improved my groups. Takes 20 minutes with a tube of Flitz and a cloth. Too lazy to find the YouTube link, just google cheap Glock trigger job. $25 for the connector, follow the video instructions for polishing the mating surfaces, and viola.

Stock connector on a 17L should be a 3.5 lb......so I don't know if the standard Ghost 3.5 will feel much different.......I have a 17L with the stock connector and a 3.5 Ghost on a 17 and they feel very similar. The ghost variants may be very nice...I just have no experience with them

I like the rocket 3.5 connector. Smooths up the take up like the others but also removes the over travel. Makes for much faster reset and more predictable break. I have it installed in my g23 G3 with no spring changes. Unlike the other kits, it's not truly drop in. You gave to file down the rear tab to fit your gun correctly. Easy to do but takes an hour of fiddling and testing.

I agree. After market versions have been known to defeat the safety features of the Glock design so they are not drop safe.

I use the Ghost Edge 3.5 with a 6 lb. trigger spring and polished trigger bar, sear, and firing pin safety plunger in my Gen 4 G19. I'm very happy with the trigger feel, very smooth rolling break with no wall, and no reliability or safety issues. I've only had the gun for a few months but I've got over 2k rounds with this setup without any malfunctions of any kind.

It would be more helpful if you stated that only a few specific drop-in triggers are not drop-safe rather than make it sound like all aftermarket trigger components will disable safety features. I don't remember which ones are not drop-safe off the top of my head or else I would fill you in.
