What guns have you carried?

-For EDC concealed, I started on a RIA Compact .45 It was too heavy.
-I like carrying revolvers sometimes, got a Smith 637.
-So I switched from the RIA to a Kimber Ultra Raptor. Better weight, and I could use the same holster.
-Springfield released the XD-S, I tried one and liked it. Once I started carrying it, I realized that metal autos were for the range. I haven't carried one since.
-Bought an LCP, it is still my pocket carry gun.
-I tried out a Taurus 85UL. Essentially it was a close match to the 637 that shot better and the Smith's finish was delicate, so it was getting trashed (paint, really?). Eventually I shelved the Smith and only carry the Taurus.
-Since the LCP was nice, I bought an LC9S. Carried it for a bit, but the XD-S was about the same round count, and I prefer .45. It got shelved.
-PSA put the PT111 on sale, I figured I would try them out, not sure about carrying a Taurus semi. After many rounds, I changed my mind. I still carry it.
-I bought a Shield 45 for fun while they had the rebate going. It outshot the XD-S for me on the first range trip. XD-S was removed from rotation.

So now the carry rotation is:
-Shield 45 for normal carry.
-Taurus PT111 if I decide I want 12 rounds and a 17-round reload
-LCP for pocket carry
-Taurus 85 when I am wearing lighter clothes. It just vanishes IWB.

Got a PF9 and carried that
Decided to get an XDs45 and carry that when I'm not wearing dress clothes or want a light gun
When dressed up, I carry the PF9 in a pocket holster

Currently my 2 regular carry weapons are Walther P99 and PPS.

Past carries are quite a few from the popular stuff and a few obscure stuff.
-Ruger P94, SR9c SP101
-Taurus 327, 738, 709
-Glock...most models and calibers. Barrels less than 4"
-AMT backup
-Springfield XDs and XDMs in the 4" barrel flavors
-S&W model 64 (I think, hated that gun)

Probably more I am forgetting.

cz pcr 9mm
colt officer 45 acp
sig 938

Those are my current favs but have others that slip in once and a while
but always always have my (stingger) 22 mag naa.

Years ago for work, a Model 1917 Smith & Wesson until I was ordered to change that out to a standard issue heavy barrel 10. A Model 15 followed. When our uniform became blazer and slacks, a Colt Agent for a brief time then a Model 64.

When I operated a business here in rural NM, a Kimber 1911 was my CCW.

A Ruger Redhawk replaced a Colt New Service for hiking and working in the mountains.

My carry guns over the years have gotten smaller, lighter and more manageable! Also, more realistic currently!

Ruger Redhawk 7.5" .44 Magnum loaded with .44 Specials
Springfield 1911 .45 ACP
Lorcin pocket .22 LR
Ruger GP 100 .357 Magnum with either mags or .38 Specials
Kimber Micro 9 9mm

My every day carry is a S&W M66 with 4" barrel, but when I had to leave it at the gunsmith shop for a new sight for a week I carried a 6" 686+. I carry appendix IWB and tucked and can assure you things got crowded in my crotch with the 6" barrel.

Interesting to reflect on this. So, my first carried handgun was in the late 80’s in the WA State National Guard; it was a rattle-box 1911 that simply went “bang” with every trigger pull. I took a hiatus from carrying through college and my after my first Active Duty assignment to South Korea. My assignments at Bragg found me carrying the M9, I did unofficially carry a NAA .22LR mini revolver on a special assignment down in South America, but that is off the record. I did purchase a Sig P228 (my first handgun, ala M11 issue), but didn’t carry that until I PCS’d to Georgia and finally picked up my first CHL.

I carried the P228 for a while, sometimes downsizing to a J-Frame (S&W 442) for some occasions.

I went through a .45ACP stint and carried both a Kimber TLE full-size and the Ultra Compact (both flawless first generation Kimbers which I still own).

Kansas didn’t have CHLs, so I had to take refrain from carrying, but once we moved to TX and picked up my TX CHL, I carried a variety.

Glock 23 (loved the size and wanted something different than 9mm and .45).

For OWB/semi CCW, when outdoors and hunting, I carried both a 4" GP100 and S&W's 686+ (3" barrel) in .357; I love them both, heavy but excellent shooters.

I went back to .45 with a Para Ordnance P12.45 when camping. Never had an issue with that handgun and love the size for capacity.

After finding a great deal on a Sig P225/P6 (and a dozen magazines!), I loved carrying that single stack Sig. It’s still a great handgun and I need to get it in for a lighter trigger and a new finish.

I picked up my very first CZ in TX, a transitional CZ-85 9mm. I only carried it during the cooler months, but fell in love with the steel CZ platforms. That of course led to carrying both a CZ-75 compact and the P-01, both in 9mm. I found an excellent, used S&W 6004 in .40S&W that I couldn't pass up...although not the same model, I felt like I was living my youth's "Miami Vice" fascination when carrying it occasionally:)

Moved back to GA (there’s a pattern here), and carried a G19, HK P2000K, and G26. The G26 had been a long-term staple and still gets carried. I picked up my first “pocket pistol” with Kel-Tech’s P32; a very compact wallet/pocket gun that still gets BUG duty in some situations. Went back to Kansas; no CCW. Moved back to TX and deployed…back to the M9.

A few deployment gifts to myself included a Browning HP MkIII and a Dan Wesson CBOB. I carried both when I returned and still carry them when it’s winter months. I deployed again, but this time to Afghanistan and the ‘ol M9, again. I used a great military deal by picking up a Sig P220 with the .22LR slide and the coupon to get the .45 slide (and they added in the night sights). Although large, it carries great in a good OWB holster.

We moved back to GA (took another trip to Afghanistan) and I started delving in several subcompact carry handguns…a few that I’ve carried and tested out:

Kahr CM9 (still gets carried and is my primary travel gun when I’m forced to fly)

S&W Shield 9mm and .40S&W (I used the .40S&W for backpacking and like it so much, I picked up the 9mm version)

S&W 3913 (love it! It's a great carry gun occasionally...a good measuring stick for many filling that subcompact, single stack role)

Sig P290RS (very J-Framish), it’s been a dedicated truck gun and backup

Both the CZ83 and Remington’s new little RM380 are carried occasionally; the RM380 is a decent pocket .380.

Lastly, the Sig P930 (Equinox model). My primary carry gun for most occasions. If I’m traveling out of town, I’ll switch to (or just add), my Glock 26. I still S&W J-Frames in a small fanny pack if I'm visiting the beach and in a swim suit (no, not while swimming).

Of course, I’m now back in Afghanistan and awaiting my arming letter and Afghan permit to again, carry an M9.

I’ve come to accept that choices are really a good thing!

It's going to be tough to remember them all. I do remember that when I first started carrying in Florida, I was REALLY nervous about it. I had no carry guns and used grandpa's old Rossi 88 for a short time.

From there:
Keltec P32
G21
G19
4" 1911
3" 1911
5" 1911
S&W 442
S&W 60
S&W 15
Custom Ruger Blackhawk .44Spl
USPFA SAA .45Colt
S&W Bodyguard .380
S&W 629
Ruger LC9
Springfield XDS .45
Ruger Bisley .44Mag

Not really all that many considering how many I own for other purposes. I tend to stick to the same thing for prolonged periods. The LC9 is probably my favorite.

Several 5" 1911s, one being double stack, a 4" and a 3.5" LDA.
A 5" 1911 with an X300 Ultra.
Glock 17.
Glock 19 with a TLR-1.
Kahr PM9, P9, and K9.
Taurus Model 85.

That pretty well sums it up. Current carry guns are the G19, K9, and a 5" 1911. The 1911 with the X300 is only out of rotation because I'm in the middle of making a new rear sight for it.

Not in any particular order. These are what I've "carried" not what I've owned so the Cowboy handguns, IPSC handguns, hunting handguns, and target handguns and stuff I've inherited are not listed, and the list includes handguns that I was issued for CC in the Military as well as in private employement :

Walther PPK .380
Beretta 85

Wow this is interesting.

CONCEALED CARRY(Regular basis):

Glock 23
Glock 27 #
Glock 30 W
Glock 19 MOS/RMR*
Sig Sauer P238
Ed Brown Special Forces Commander 1911 W
S&W 442 #
S&W 640
NAA 22 WMR*
Kimber K6S 357 Magnum*

#No longer own
W Winter carry
*Current carry. Glock 19 out to 50 yards, either hand. Kimber K6S out to 25 yards, either hand.
------
First guns I carried were the Glock 23/27 Combo. I switched to the Glock 30 when I carried in the winter. My 1911 was also a winter carry gun. 2008-2012

As I had more experience with revolvers, I began to pocket carry a 442 38+P or a Mouse Gun, the P238. I liked the option of drawing from the pocket. I had alternated the 442 and 640, and sometimes even carried both revolvers: One in pocket, and one IWB - 2013-mid 2016

With the increase of mob violence, I incorporated the Glock 19 MOS (appendix) and a 357 Magnum (pocket). When the Kimber K6S came out recently, I liked the option of actual combat sights and the 6 round capacity. I added the 3rd gun, the NAA, for a backup.

I only carry if I can hit a steel plate out to 25 yards. I carried the 1911 since I could hit a plate out to 75 yards. The NAA is the only exception.

Wow some of those lists are impressive! I've only lived in states that allowed CCW for 7 or so years, but here's what I recall.

Sig P225 and P220 depending on season.

Replaced those with a Ruger SR9c, the SR40c

Then:

Glock 23
Glock 21
Glock 30S
Glock 19
Glock 17
Glock 26
Kimber Pro Carry
Kimber Warrior
Kimber Ultra Carry
Ruger SR1911 CMD
CZ P07
Ruger LCR
Sig P229
Sig P245
Browning Hi Power
Dan Wesson VBob

Finally settled on 2 pairs, depending on what I am shooting/training most.

Either Glock 17 primary and Glock 26 when I need more concealment

Or

DW VBob primary and Kimber Ultra Carry when I need deeper concealment.

Some day the Kimber will be replaced with a DW ECO

I've carried a few. I like shooting a wide variety of handguns, but for defensive purposes I like to carry the same thing, the same way as much as possible. Muscle memory matters under stress.

Short answer: lots and lots of guns! Started with an Astra Model 600 carried in a U.S. M7 Tanker holster. From there I went with a Charter Arms Undercover in a Bianchi Model 9R shoulder holster. While backwoods hiking I often took along a Beretta Model 70S or a Rossi Model 88, carried in an Uncle Mike's OWB nylon holster. Too many to count S&W Model 36s (and one really beautiful nickel plated Model 38), with 2" and 3" barrels, usually in an IWB leather clip holster. Several Beretta Jetfires and a Sterling Model 602, tucked away in my front pocket. A number of Colt Combat Commanders, often times in a Don Hume belt slide holster.

Currently I have a Kahr CM9, SIG P238, Colt Mustang, KelTec P3AT, S&W Model 649, S&W Model 638, and a Ruger SR9c in my carry rotation. Have also occasionally carried a S&W Model 686 (shoulder holster), and a SIG P229 (OWB holster).
Wow, I can only imagine the look on the bad guys face when staring down the bore of an Astra 600!
"Ummm, are you pointing a piece of steel pipe at me, or is that a handgun?"

Started off carrying a USP Tactical 45. It never worked right and was really big. HK wouldn't give me a service number for it so I eventually sold it to a friend after explaining in detail te problems it had. He claimed he had ties to an HK Certified Armorer who could fix it up and was looking for a host for a suppressor.

Carried a Springfield 1911 on occasion. It was my brother's and I could never get into the 1911. Sagged the belt line way too much to have only 8 rounds.

I then went to a SIG P220SAO. It was a little lighter and a little cheaper than the 1911s with the features I was looking for, but still couldn't get over the 8 round magazines. By this time I had the Glock 20 but it took me a while to be able to shoot it accurately. Had problems shooting high with the thing for a while and this prevented it from being taken seriously.

Sold the SIG to get a Glock 19. Outstanding little pistol chambered for a cartridge I could afford to shoot in bulk. It was with this pistol that I really learned how to shoot Glocks well. Unfortunately, this was one of several firearms I had stolen out of my truck a little over a year ago, when I was in the process of moving. That left me with only the Glock 20. But by now I felt more confident in my ability to hit with a Glock. I started putting a lot more serious practice into the 10mm Auto, including finally getting a good set of sights on it. I've had the G20 for almost a decade now, have more rounds through it than probably all others combined, and have grown so used to the unique capabilities this pistol and the 10mm Auto cartridge offer that I really don't see anything replacing it soon. I might try get my hands on another G19 just so I once again have a platform I am comfortable with in a cartridge that I know I can find, but it would still run backup to the 10mm.

Fot the last several days I've been carrying my gen2 glock 20 again. I have a sidearmor iwb holster with I think 15 degree cant from almost 20 years ago. Used to carry behind the hip now I carry in front. Draw is a little strange but it puts the grip into my body just right. It's currently much easier to "make" my spare mag than the pistol (mom got the mag when she hugged me, not the pistol though). I carry it just fine in shorts and tshirt. I should probably try to use a diff mag carrier.

I use my shield with a foxtrot concealment tuckable holster on Sunday mornings, same carry location, 2 spare mags, pouch fits in my back pocket. I'll try to replace the g20 with my hk usp 40 compact v1 when it gets its new holster. I do need to train more to get that double action pull down.

Both the shield and g20 shoot very naturally for me.

I limit mine more than a lot of you guys do.
A well-worn S&W 469 was my first. It was cheap, available, and ran like an atomic clock. Like someone else said, "it would shoot rocks if you could get them in the magazine." It never failed to function. Not once. It did fail to hit what I wanted it to. I could shoot other guns better, other people could shoot it better. Think it was just the honking bulky grip not working for me.
Upgraded to a CZ PCR. Not a single failure that wasn't from my handloads (it doesn't like them frontheavy). Absolute heaven in the hands and the target. If I had put in new springs and polished the insides, I would have needed to take a change of pants to the range with me. Sold it to pay rent.
Taurus 85 UL, 2.5" barrel. Bought it while I had the PCR. Never seen another 2.5" before or since. Despite what people might say, my only failures have been from dry-firing (Crushed the firing pin spring quick. Don't do that.) and +P jumping crimp. Still have it, it stays in my pocket or glovebox.
Ruger SR9c. Can't say anything about this yet. Nabbed it online last night for a song. Loved them when I checked at the counter, and overjoyed to be in a position I could afford to get an auto back at my side.

I did carry the S&W 586 I had fishing, once.
Once.
