Your "go to gun."

When the OP says go-to gun I'm taking that to mean what is my go-to now, not in a future hypothetical situation. Right now that is a Glock 23 that is my carry gun almost every time.

I wouldn't want to be buried with it, because I want my descendants to enjoy shooting it, but the gun I'd grab in an emergency would be my 16" Tavor. Great little carbine that is a lot of fun to shoot, great ergonomics, reliable, and easy to maintain.

Mine would be my 4" M19-3.

I went ahead and found a spare barrel and cylinder just to make sure I can keep it running well into the future. Forcing cone issues be d*mned.

Or in case one of my back up M19's goes down.

As others have mentioned "go to" to me kind of signals a carry piece. For me that's my LC9s that's with me every day.

As far as being buried with a gun, if I had something truly valuable or sentimental I wouldn't want to be buried with it, I'd want to pass it along. If I ever decided I wanted to be buried with a gun "just because", it would be something no one cares about, like a Glock.

This is an easy one, my first duty gun. A Smith and Wesson model 686 no dash, 4 inch barrel. The trigger is so smooth. I started with the PD in 1985. I retired near the end of 2007. I had a great run and retired before I became bitter. Life is good.

My S&W model 625 (.45ACP), with an out-of-the-box trigger job. Shoots anything I can create with my reloader. My 'nightstand gun' for as long as I've been shooting. Others may come and go, but that revolver is it. @jim in Anchorage, you'll be pleased to know I acquired it while stationed in Anchorage.

The one you have absolute faith in and wish to be buried with.
Me 1951 production model 70 Winchester, 30-06.
57 grains 4350, 180 Nosier partition.
It's been like my right arm for decades.

"Your go-to gun" sounds like just one. I'm going to have to go with my S&W Mod 627, 2.5 inch, 8 shot .357. A tad thicker, but really no bigger or heavier than my 1911.

It'd be a waste to bury it, but....
My hipower and I are joined at the hip, and I plan on keeping it that way up until the point where I assume room temperature. Then my boy can have it

Outside of a couple of .22s every gun I own I would trust with my life or I wouldn't have it. "Go to" is every one of them

My "go-to" gun will pretty much always be a 1911. They perform for me like an extension of my arm. I carry a fully customized one daily.

As far as burial, I've passing all firearms mine on. My burial instructions are
to have me in a sports car with my hand on the stick shift and my foot pressing
the accelerator to the floor board.

Mine is a 1978 Remington 700 VS in .25-06, first centerfire rifle I owned. It has gone everywhere with me and hunted everything I've ever hunted. Sure, I have a lot of other rifles but this is always my first choice.

Never mind that it's a long action and doesn't have an extensive collection of high bc bullets to shoot, it has never failed me.
