I would bet that by this fall wait times will drop off considerably, and I'm waiting a bit before I send off my next few form 1 papers, mostly due to all the extra crap my trust has to jump through. Me and my trust guys are shopping for what the next items to add will be, but i intend to sbr a pistol cal ar lower, and build an Ithaca 37 SBS at minimum. So, i guess the waiting hasn't curbed my enthusiasm too much.... I still hate waiting though...

Jeez, 314 days for a Form 1 efile? That's recordbreakingly pathetic on the ATF's behalf. I have a new can headed to my dealer on a form 3 right now. I really hope things start speeding up by the time my form 4 gets submitted in a month or so.

You should be fine. There was a mad rush for NFA forms last July because of the new rule change going into effect. Shouldn't be as bad for new submitals.

Last July 1st and 4th i bought a stamp for a form 1 SBR and a form 1 suppressor, the checks both cashed and the forms showed up in the system on the 27th of July. I finally received my stamps today! Long wait, but now I am in the NFA game for real! Gotta buy some parts now...

I just received my e-filed Form 1 silencer stamp too. Almost a full years wait. Now I just have to polish up on my machining skills a bit. :)

I filed at the beginning of July 2016, so the rush should be close to two weeks from over (41F went into effect mid-July I think). Hopefully now we'll start to see a big drop in turnaround time.

It looks like we are at almost a year and the slope of the rise it frightening. They should just drop 41T. I was right to be a very skeptical when this poll first opened.

I think we are getting close to camming over the hump. I'm predicting much lower wait times in about 3 months.

Well three months and a week later it would appear that I underestimated the size of the hump. NFA tracker still shows the curve going up and up... What I'm worried about now is whether things will really speed up at all after the pre-41 submissions go through. I guess they will be doing a lot more background checks per submission on trusts with the new rules, I guess it's possible things could even get worse.

I hope everyone that has been waiting all this time is pelting their congressmen with emails and letters about how long the wait is to have a background check similar to the NICS check conducted, just to buy a muffler. Seems like these rediculous wait times could a least be used as ammo to pressure for some kind of change to this moronic system if people complain loudly.

Maybe not, the big advantage of the trust is gone ... I'm guessing more people will be going back to an individual forum, or like mine, I'm the only one in the trust, I only used the trust to expedite the process.

The ATF cashed my check for Form 4 tax stamp 26JUN2017. I hope to get my can in less than a year. It'd make a nice 40th Birthday!!

One of my forms (an F1 in this case) was finally approved after 11 months. God only knows when the other one will see the light of day. ;)

Called ATF today to check status of form 4, apparently it was approved 6 weeks ago and the dealer never called me. He claims he just received it in the mail. Anyways, happy to have it completed, will probably head up this weekend to pick it up.

Check cashed: 7/19/16 (submitted prior to 41F)
Approved: 6/14/17
330 days.

Of course it's actually 421 days since I purchased it in April of 2016 online and had to wait 9 weeks just for the ATF to allow it to get to my local shop.

Ok, today I picked up my TiRant .45 and TacSol Axiom. They were submitted right before the deadline so it took about a year and two weeks.

Submitted paperwork for my AAC Pilot 2 by mail on Dec.1 2016. Check cleared that month. Stamp arrived today. Eight months. Woot!
