A buddy had a fire sale on handguns. I bought a Raging Bull 44 mag and a 357 Tracker from him for hunting. I would like to mount a red dot or scope on the 44, or failing that the .357. It seems the factory scope mounts are not available anywhere. I am having trouble finding anything short of taking it to a gun smith and having it drilled and tapped. Any suggestions?

Picturing my 4yr old when he asks me, "dad, I can't find my shoes, can you find them?" My reply, "you can't find them, but have you LOOKED for them?"...

Weigand makes rails which replace the rear sight and use one screw. Best to have a second screw D&T'd at the front.

B-square makes a mount which uses the rib vents on the barrel, similar to the Taurus mount, but with more slot options.

I saw the Weigand, I wanted to avoid gunsmithing. I saw the B-square but they were for a different model. I did buy a set from Ebay to try and am waiting for them. Thanks for the reply but I was hoping for a model specific option. I will look harder at B-Square.

I got mine by calling Taurus direct. Took eight weeks but it is great. Three plates through the rib fasten the mount quite solidly.

Thanks, I will try that. I tried a couple ebay mounts for other models. One might work with some machine work but I will try to get the right one.

I have been shooting my .454 T.R.Bull for about seven years now. Went through scope after scope, lock-tite,,,on all the screws Bla-Bla-Bla. Had enough. I hunt with this gun quite a bit so I didn't want to miss!
Took it to a Smith and had him drill and tap three screws with epoxy on the entire Taurus rail. I'm pretty sure it wont come loose again,,,,,,,,,No problems now.
