How many different pistols at a range session??

My wife and I generally take 3. My carry gun, my back up carry gun and her gun. I carry the back up for half of the range session then I switch out.

I typically compartmentalize my practice sessions, so I'll only take two or three at a time. I do "range days" with locals, students, family, and friends where I might take a dozen at a time, but don't generally end up shooting them all myself.

The number of guns that goes with me depends on what I am planning to do.

If I am practicing, then one or two. If I have some things to check, try out, or some kind of experimentation/varification, it could be more but probably not more than 6 or 7.

Either way, I rarely shoot more than a 150-200 rounds at a session. But, I do have frequent sessions as my range is located out back in the "South 40".

Time decides. Here the local places are an hour. So, two pistols. At my S. FL range you can stay all day. So at least 3+.
Lots of ammo as I practice shooting, not bullseye.

Normally I don’t have more than 3 per range session, (not counting my EDC) unless I am teaching a new shooter or a buddy wants to shoot one of my guns.

And I try not to go to the range unless I have adequate time to accomplish what I set out to do without being rushed. Whether it is load work or shooting a new gun, I want to take my time and enjoy my time at the range. That’s a lot easier to do now that I am retired.

Geez. Tough question. Is it just me? Maybe 3. Is it a family or friend excursion? 8 or so. But it’s decided ahead of time who cleans what. The youngsters clean the revolvers. The seasoned shooters clean the semiautos. That lesson was learned the hard way.

1 or 2 usually. Mostly I just shoot my carry gun and maybe another per session.

I don't usually have a ton of time per session so I have to focus.

Six:

22 revolver and 22 auto

mid-level (32ish or 38ish) revolver and auto

larger 40-something caliber revolver and auto

Otherwise some of them wouldn't get shot much, and they would be very sad pandas. :(

That's a good point. No matter how many go to the range, they are rotated out of the safe.

For me it’s typically 2, but sometimes 1 or 3. Never more. Primarily it’ll be my carry gun, then a .22, and if there’s a 3rd it’ll be some sort of full sized handgun. But I find I never shoot more than 2 at a range session, if I have 3 with me it's because my daughter is shooting the .22.

I generally bring several...2-6 depending on time i plan to spend. If I have lots of time, I will bring a .22 or two, a couple 9MM’s I carry, and at least my .40 and/or .45.

If it’s a shorter visit, I will generally just shoot the carry and bedside 9 MM’s.

May or may not bring rifles. If I head to the skeet range, then it’s pretty much just a shotgun or two and will spend all my time blasting oranges UFO’s

A couple of handguns, add my carry piece and a rifle, maybe two.
Depends on how frequently I've been hitting the range.

I rarely bring more than 3 different calibers. If shooting the same caliber, possibly 4 guns. Also depends on the range. Indoor range is more limited in length. I prefer to shoot outside, more space and less concussion. More fun, frankly.

I have a handgun range on the property. Usually only one handgun per session. As example a 1911 series pistol with twelve (8) round magazines totals 96-Rds or a S&W MP9 with eight magazines totals 136-Rds. Revolvers we don't shoot that much at the present but in the past it was usually two containers of 50-Rds each. There are occasions where we take the S&W MP9c with eight (12) round magazines and eight (17) MP9 magazines totals 232-RDS

My range is behind the barn, maybe 250' from the back door.

I used to take 5 or 6 firearms out at once, but I couldn't really concentrate on any of them. Plus, cleaning is a concern , or, at least the time involved in cleaning.

These days, I take 2, maximum. My range sessions are rarely longer than 90 minutes. I'll shoot 100-150 rounds, and pack it up. If it's rifle day, maybe 30 rounds.

Usually somewhere between 1-6, though most often 1-3 as cleaning is a PITA when your busy.

A long while back I did take my whole collection, around 25 handguns and a few thousand rounds of ammo. Was great fun but its takes a long time to field strip, clean, re lube, wipe down and put away that many handguns. Certainly couldn't do it now, collection has grown a lot and I'd be worried about having that many out.

I usually have a carry gun, that I don't shoot during my range session, one gun I will shoot almost exclusively, and maybe a 22 handgun to firm up the basics with after I'm done shooting the main gun I brought. I go to the range every week, and find that when I bring too many guns, my practice gets muddled, and I have to clean too many guns when I get home and process to much brass. I'd rather put in quality time with one or two guns than shoot more than that... Too many guns at the range = diminished returns.

I'll also devote some range sessions to my carry gun, then when hunting season rolls around, I'll focus on my 44's. Other than that it's my 38/357's for some enjoyable plinking at steel targets.

That depends. My range is my back yard, so does each trip into the house to get a different gun count as a separate trip, or is it all the same trip since I didn't go anywhere?
